Ouch. Guess we will see a lot of Tapia/Bradley/Merrifield for the next while.

Seems like the main camera is quite a bit further away in Texas than it is at Rogers Centre.

Ground balls everywhere. Glad to get things started early though!

I forgot about how awkward the camera angle is at this ballpark. Seems weird for a brand new place.
3 soft ground balls and the Jays get a run. Lets keep it going boys.

Strip helps his own cause on defence. That was pretty smoothly done.

Vladdy just misses a HR, hopefully a sign of things to come. Still needs to get the ball up just a little bit more.

All of the angles seem quite zoomed out. It’s a bit disorienting.

Looked like Tapia might have had a chance at that if he didn't hit the wall and stop. The ball didn't clear by very much.

A hit and run with Tapia at bat is a dumb idea

Stripling cruising through 5, only 50 pitches.

Seriously, if you don't appreciate Stripling at this point, I question your ability to judge baseball pitchers.
He was our 6th starter to begin the year. Right now, he's 3rd behind Manoah and Gausman. Pretty impressive.

I hope you don't think I don't appreciate Stripling, he's been rock solid this year.

No, definitely not talking to you. Just the ones hesitant to sing his praises. I don't blame them entirely. I mean, this is the first year in a while that he's looked really good, but still, the numbers don't lie.
I still think about what the starting pitching would look like if we decided to re-sign Ray.
Manoah, Gausman, Ray, Stripling, Berrios
Absolutely terrifying.

If we were to trade the farm for Ohtani (I’d be willing to move almost anyone outside of the starting staff and Guerrero) and re-sign Stripling, our rotation would be Manoah, Gausman, Ohtani, Berrios, and Stripling (we’d likely need a few bullpen days because I think Ohtani usually doesn’t pitch every five days). And then we’d have Guerrero and Ohtani in the batting order.
Beat that team.

Another solid outing for Stripling. Jays are lucky he's really stepped up this year.
