Not quite. With less than two out, if first is occupied, the batter cannot advance on a dropped third strike but with two out, they can.

On a side note, I don't know about Alberta's situation, but yesterday in Ontario, Pro-line+ launched, where we could now place single game sports bets. I don't really gamble aside from the lottery, but I put some coin down on the Jays for tonight with 1.5 return. I think betting is going to grow quite a bit in the next while and sports viewership should increase as a result.

Yes, and the reason for that is that if there are less than two outs, the defense could force it into a double play, turning it into an advantage for the defense.

Smith playing 1B today? What are the Jays doing? Feels like they are giving up and are now experimenting

All SS infield lol

And the worst one of the 4 defensively is the one who is actually playing SS lol

1B - Smith
2B - Semien
3B - Espinal
SS - Bichette

Kirk catching and has been moved up to the 4 hole.

Kirk should thank Hinch for telling Charlie that he can actually hit.

Is there a reason why Nolan Ryan starts every game against the Jays?

The Jays bats are unwatchable garbage these days. Doesn't matter what scrub, stud, or up and comer the other team puts out there. Just a bunch of useless garbage hitters.

I'm getting pretty close to shutting it down for the season. Not really wanting to watch them get 5 or 6 hits and 1 or 2 runs every game while they go out without even a whimper.

I now pretty much tune in to see if the Jays can score more than 1 run. They'll lose, but scoring 2 runs would be a moral victory.

We're gonna snatch defeat from the jaw of victory again and waste another good starter performance because the bats have become hot garbage, right???

Well there's something from Captain Kirk. Wish there were runners on.

Remember when the Jays had the lead?

That was kind of fun for half an inning.

Once again the jays can’t get that guaranteed out from their bullpen. Man I hate it the second a reliever is brought in as it’s always a dramatic situation where the drama ends with a blown lead.

They got the out it’s just hard to get an out with runner on third that doesn’t let runner score. Non double play ground outs and sac fly will both score. Surprised they put Manoah out for the seventh given his pitch count but 1 and 3rd with one out is pretty hard to get out of with no runs.
