I hate people like that, which is probably why I hated reading his stuff from a very young age (for me, not him).
Also, while he may have believed that, I think he definitely went beyond just being a contrarian, like with his tweet about Darryl Sutter being like malaria when the Kings hired him.
As for Francis, he seems like a great community guy, which is great for the community. As for his writing, his strength is with personality pieces (like the piece on Andersson talking about the trade). His weakness is as an analyst or insider. Unfortunately, he does way more of the latter and less of the former.
