The Jays are currently 59-49. There's 54 games remaining in the season. 23 of which are in the division. Let's say the Jays go 6-17 in those games. And that's being optimistic at this point. To get to 90 wins they'll have to go 25-6 against the rest of the league. All while fending off the Red Sox, Angels, Yanks, and Mariners. This is going to be tough sledding.

Well somehow Ryu was the highlight of that game for the jays. Even after giving up 4.

You think they will go 6 and 17 and then say that's being optimistic? Jesus.

This month has a mix of some good teams and not so good:

3 against Boston (.533 W%, but our kryptonite for some reason)
7 against Cleveland (.491 W%)
3 against the Cubs (.500)
2 against the Phillies and 3 against the Reds (.540ish)
3 against the Nats (.417)

Outside of the Orioles, none of those teams scare me. I'd expect the Jays to have a good month overall given that schedule. Then we get into September and it should end up being a softer schedule for the Jays.

9 games to start the month in a row against the Rockies, A's, and Royals. LOL!

After that, it's all potential playoff teams with Texas, Boston, and then 2 series against Tampa and the Yankees. We'll know what kind of team this will be by the time they get to late September. Honestly, with the way the Yankees are playing this year I think the Jays will end up with a winning record against them.

Losing 2 games in a row against one of the best teams in baseball (luckiest?) is no shame. Rally back to win 1 or 2 in this series, then go and kick Boston's ass for a few games, all of a sudden we are having a very different conversation.

Chin up, Jays fans. This is still a very good team.

I know. It sounds ridiculous. But I believe it. The Jays started the season 4-2 against the division and have gone 3-20 since. Like how is that even possible? So a 6-17 stretch is a vast improvement on what we've seen the last 3 months.

If the Jays finish the season 13-39 Vs their division they will clearly miss the playoffs . But that isn’t being optimistic hahahah

George Springer is one at bat away from sharing in an unfortunate Toronto Blue Jays record for consecutive at-bats without a hit.

Can Yusei pull off a minor miracle and save this series?

Stay tuned folks.

Good news on Bo at least.

The trade deadline was boring... but the Jays pretty much did exactly what I thought they'd do given the imminent debuts of Ryu and Greene (at the time)... a right handed bat and a southpaw reliever (Cabrera). I would have liked a bigger RH bat but DeJong will have to do. He'll be an improvement on Espinal on the field and at the plate... really would have liked a big slugging outfielder to go along with him but dems da breaks.

Just gotta hope that the guys get hot at the right time (don't think this team is a world series favorite so gotta hope for that hot run).

Team needs to rebuild it's farm system. Other then Tiedemann I don't see a lot of guys that could blossom into homegrown stars or land a really big fish in trade.

Basically have to hope for a developmental surprise, maybe Barger, Orelvis, Horwitz or Davis Schneider. But ya no blue chipper besides Ricky.

I don't understand why they're still throwing Mountcastle pitches over the plate. He is MASHING the Jays at near historic levels. Not only that, he is a guy that will chase pitches out of the zone. Pitch him consistently (well) outside the zone, if you walk him, you walk him.

Vladimir Guerrero Jrs lack of power has really hurt the Jays this year. They’re a competitive team but he is just really not a dangerous hitter this year. Hopefully he can bounce back but the career arc is looking dangerously close to average hitter.
