Need to decide whether to watch this first or Yellowstone. Win-win

I’m 6 episodes in and so far it’s slower than any other season. Slightly disappointed though I’m sure it’ll pick up much sooner. On and El Chapo is portrayed kinda a character to root for so far.

I'll give it shot, but to be honest Narcos if far superior to Narcos Mexico, IMO.

Just noticed that LA Confidential is up on Netflix now. I had been wanting to rewatch this movie for some time as I only watched it once back in the 90s as a rental, and remembered it being an amazing movie. I tried to convince my daughter to watch it with me so we played the trailer. It was a typical 90s trailer that only convinced my daughter that it was a cheezy police drama. I started wondering if maybe the movie didn't age well.
Well, I watched it with my wife last night, and it is still fantastic. Young Russel Crowe was amazing - looking through his filmography, I think this was probably his breakthrough film. Well worth watching again.

Finished it, and I didn't care for Narcos Mexico, season 3. Clearly the worst of the seasons for either Colombia or Mexico. Each of the other four seasons of the others were great. This one lacked a lot.

Watched the first 3 episodes of Arcane and I would recommend it. Very good animation and so far a nice story. Riot has hit the spot with this one so far

I kinda forgot Arcane was coming, so was a nice little surprise when it showed up.
The story is pretty straight forward but I think they do a good job with it. I don't know anything about the game or characters, and I don't think I ever felt "this is dumb/makes no sense this obviously is done for fan service or only exists to explain some game only origin/event/etc" which is something that a lot of non-game related stuff can't even stop themselves from doing. It's probably there, but it's done in a way that doesn't distract or in a way that serves the show's story or world building.
They do a pretty good job of the world building, which given the huge reservoir to draw from makes some sense but they could have done it poorly too with so much to draw on, so that's good.
The characters are pretty stereotypical but again I think they do well with it. Basic food with good quality ingredients is still good.
Will definitely watch the rest.
Between this and the really good first K/DA music video they seem to have some good creators there.

for those of you with kids under 10, My Little Pony: a New Generation, was quite enjoyable.
I give it 7 of 10 and my daughter gave it an 11 out of 10.

I have been led to believe that Red Notice is yet another disaster of a movie for Netflix. They sure do put out a lot of trash.
Pretty much all of my streaming of newer shows has been Disney and Crave/HBO. Apple has a few good shows I need to watch but haven’t yet. Prime has a couple but only Yellowstone is current. Netflix has nothing at the moment worth watching.

I dunno, I found it amusing. The Rock plays another version of every "Police Officer" type character he's played. Ryan Reynolds stars as himself/Wade Wilson, and Gal Gadot is just her awesome self. It's a heist movie, with the various tropes that go along with that, and probably about 15-30 minutes too long...but decent enough, I felt.
But then, I wasn't expecting Oscar material out of it, either.

Tiger King Season 2 dropped today.
Should we start a pool as to how many more teeth most of the meth-heads have lost?
Have they found Carol's Husband's body yet?
I still wish Trump had pardoned Joe Exotic on his way out the door...just for the chaos.
Imagine if he'd pardoned Joe Exotic in time for him to attend the Capitol insurrection along with his army of Tigers and meth-head employees? Now that would have made for some compelling television.
That weird shaman guy wouldnt even have been the craziest person in the room.

Me too. I gave it a Thumbs Down without watching the new season. Hopefully it helps me never see it my suggestions again.

I don't regret watching Tiger king. It was trashy fun and a good conversation piece. But I'm not signing up for anymore.

My girlfriend was watching tiger king 2, and it really doesn't have any of the magic of the first one. What made the first one entertaining was that they kept diving deeper into a zanier and zanier story. It was like pulling back layers of a rotten onion and seeing how much more rotten it could get.
The new series is basically just a bunch of extra footage and some more details. But I already know the main story and all the craziness. So there's nothing to draw me in.
It's just not very interesting. I zoned out on my phone while it was on.

I loved the first one, but this is absolutely true.
What really made it interesting for me was that they went to make a Documentary on a specific topic and then almost immediately got derailed into this seemingly endless downward spiral of batcrap insanity.
The psychos shouldnt be in charge of a Lemonade stand let alone living beings and wild animals.
And it just got crazier and crazier the deeper you went.
I've watched 1 episode and the followup to that initial Documentary is interviewing these same people about how things have changed since the initial airing of that series.
This person is crazy, that person is nuts, etc. rinse and repeat.
Oh really? Is that so? Have you looked in a mirror lately? None of you clowns is exactly a bastion of sanity and rational thought.
Its just stupid monkeys flinging #### at each other. I cant stand it.
Its pedestrian and uninteresting. Its like low-rent, off-brand reality TV centered around people who, if they disappeared off the face of the Earth tomorrow we'd all be better off or at worst nobody would even notice or care.

The first documentary also unintentionally ended up having a great gonzo component. The documentary was made as Joe Exotic was being taken down by the authorities. It's pretty difficult to re-create that kind of cluster @#$#.
