Hey, just because someone has a swastika tattoo doesn't mean he's a Nazi. Don't you know the swastika has been used as a symbol of good luck around the world for centuries? That skinhead yelling "white power" might just be really into Hindu spirituality.

Good that you can blanket label people though. Less complicated.

Okay, I'll do this. First, I did answer your question. I suggested it was neither as support was more likely to be out of ignorance than anything. But, that answer didn't get to where you wanted to go.

So, let's do this and you'll be able happy you nailed yet another fellow poster.

All things being equal, it was wrong to support those companies. Now, you'll say "what makes it right to do now?". And I'll say "it's not right to do now". Then you'll say "then you do judge people who buy Tesla's". And, there you go, you got me.

Well played sir, well played.
Think you figured him out

For some reason people who defend Musk et al seem to operate on the basis that calling them Nazis is some sort of insult, but they clearly don't see it that way. I mean, here's an excerpt of Peter Thiel (Musk's buddy and bankroller of JD Vance) where he was talking about how much he admired Nazi philosopher Carl Schmitt. As part of that, he compared the 2020s US to Weimar Germany, suggesting that they need to look towards extremism and anti-democracy to solve their problems:

Quote:
"I don't think we're ever in a cyclical world but there are certainly certain parallels in the U.S. in the 2020s to Germany in the 1920s," Thiel said. "Liberalism is exhausted, one suspects that democracy, whatever that means, is exhausted, and that we have to ask some questions very far outside the Overton window."

It's kinda funny owning a Tesla now.

I'm a trades person who drives a Tesla and gets constantly dunked on for driving a EV by ######bag conservative right wing idiots. Even recently I've been called a fag and gay with no end of homophobic insults. That's okay, I've owned it as a badge of pride. I don't care what they call me, I find it funny and as a great retort, I ask them how they like paying Trudeau's carbon tax cause I pay nothing and it pisses them off to no end.

Now people who bought a Tesla are being shunned by the left. Presumably most have bought their vehicles in good faith because the want to make a difference, because the carbon tax the left has touted works so well...

I can't afford to sell and buy again.

Must suck for you to live in Vancouver with fascist ###### all over. Can not find Tesla at any light. Maybe put your money where you think ours should go and move if you think it's that bad

I'm always surprised by the large number of Teslas I see on the road in Dallas when I am there.

Honestly they are everywhere.

I'll call your car a swasticar, but I won't call you a nazi apologist unless the model you're driving is a cyber truck. However, Musk has been heading down this road for a couple of years. If you bought your tesla within the last 2 years or so, I don't know what to tell you..

I drive an Ioniq 5. I specifically avoided Tesla because I think that the company and it's CEO are problematic.

Information management at a Cabinet-level agency - that's all I say for my own protection.

Things have gotten slightly quieter in the last week. DOGE did come to my agency but it seemed they only wanted financial info.

With some of the temporary restraining orders, things have slowed, but I'm just waiting for the other shoe to drop.

I am almost 100% certain we're headed for a shutdown and I worry what Musk might try to do if he can start blabbering on about "essential" vs. "non-essential."

What people don't realize is that yeah, non-essential might be ok to go without for a while, but eventually you'll see the effects of no highway construction contracts, no tax return processing, no meat inspection, no labor investigations, and no FOIA requests for transparency into WTF is happening. It takes a while for these things to hit the general public, but when they do, then they'll really learn what it is to live in a s-hole country.

I had someone mention that they were buying Swastika stickers to slap on every Tesla they see.

I understand the sentiment but buying a horde of Swastika stickers I imagine will likely put you on a list you dont want to be on.

I'm not sure putting stickers on other people's property, no matter how big a nazi they may or may not be, is advisable. Particularity since Tesla's have that sentry feature.

I have no idea, I've always contended that touching anyone's car with malicious intent or without permission to be punished severely.

You dont mess with someone's car. No matter what the reason.

It's so dumb to haunt normal Tesla buyers just in general.

Unless of course it's a Cybertruck, those things are pathetic.
