Slow episode, but not bad. I think it sets up alot with the new family and their farm.
Save atleast a couple flares for the return trip fat guy and black haired cop.

Anyone watch Talking Dead after? They were asking Robert Kirkman about the low zombie kill count (1) in the episode. He said don't worry next week there are a lot of awesome zombie kills. I think next week will be pretty frantic with Shane and Otis surrounded by walkers and trying to escape.

Pretty good episode last night. Much better flow than last week's.
I haven't read the comic, but I'm glad they're introducing new characters. Next week's episode looks good too with Shane and Otis running around in the high school. I like character development, as long as they're killing some zombies in between .. haha.
Also, I usually can't stand bad acting, but I've found the acting to be pretty good. Not on par with Breaking Bad, but nothing can touch that show (except maybe The Sporanos and The Wire).

No big deal, it's one of these shows where you have to overlook quite a bit, like watching 24. How Bauer could make it anywhere in LA from CTU in 15 minutes was beyond me.

You could probably google the comic script easy enough. I understand using the spoiler tag and everything, but I'd hate to accidently find a huge plot mechanism that doesn't take place for a season or two cause I look at a spoiler tag thinking 'oh, I've seen all the episodes, it should be safe'.

Seems odd to bitch about the acting in a zombie show, but the entire point of The Walking Dead is character driven and what people would do/how they'd react, so you need strong actors and this show has none.
The zombie effects are top-notch though. I was going to say special effects in general, but that explosion in season 1 was laughable.

I don't find Lincoln that bad, his American accent is pretty good for an English bloke and he doesn't tend to overact. The only two characters I'm not fond of are the mothers; the one that looks like Jamie Lee Curtis is by far the worst actor on the show.

The second episode (and end of the 1st) was a good change of pace. Obviously the whole series can't just be the group roaming around and running into large packs of zombies, so there does need to be a bit of substance. I like that the show is moving away from the comic books, so there really is alot of different ways that this series can go.
I'm curious to see what the next twist is, as you know there's no way the group will just sit at the farm and enjoy life. It would be nice to know what started the virus, as was previously stated.

I liked that the redneck brother's stash had blue meth in it. Maybe that's how the Breaking Bad crew paid the Walking Dead crew for their help with the FX shot in BB's finale.

It's not really though. The farm and the fort that they mentioned they are heading to are all from the books, and the characters are pretty close.

Yeah, that's actually pretty good. They always show a clip for the next week, have the zombie vs human death count. A memorial for the killed zombies. And a Q&A with someone from the show.
Robert Kirkman was saying a lot of the questions will be answered eventually, what brought about the apocalypse, what was whispered to Rick at the CDC, and some other stuff.

Same here.... I'm losing interest in this show. I think my problem with it is that they haven't made me connect to the characters yet, so I don't care much what happens to them. The emotional scenes have fallen flat because the people that bad things have happened to have are boring and one-dimensional.
If either of the kids died, I wouldn't feel a thing. And this is coming from someone who has actually shed a tear over some moments in Jersey Shore (don't judge me!)

Whoa didn't realize that Andrew Lincoln was English... really changes my opinion of him as an actor (especially after that monologue in the premiere!). Not to be facetious but I really thought that he was an All-American good ol' boy! You sure had me goin'... Youtube interview with Ranger Rick speaking with a funny accent below:

What is the big deal with Zombies? They are defeated by merely walking briskly.

But you don't walk briskly when you're sleeping...
And one zombie can be easily taken care of, but when there are hundreds of them, there relentlessness can end everyone.
