Gotta love abbreviations. I played the demo for a bit, haven't tried this ultimate team mode. I like it, look forward to the release of the full game.

Naw...I just don't see me playing that mode...I find it tough to read the names on some of the cards...and I hate them there Euros

i know its been talked about before, but does anyone know offhand (or have a link) to what special promotions specific stores have. if i recall it was gamestop/eb games that had the special edition with the boost gear.

i like this ultimate team mode. got hall, getzlaf, and malkin. Oh and Chara

Tip ins and Wrap arounds have gotten me most of my goals. I got Getzlaf, Malkin, Backstrom, Hall, Tavaras, Keith, and Kipper as my big guys.

Demo is fun so far, players aren't as stop on a dime this time, and the bigger players actually move different then the smaller ones.... a little disappointed that a lot of the exploit goals are still in the game, hopefully they have a little fix for that by the time the full game comes out.

and my HUT sucks.... got Getzlaf, Chara and Miller... the rest are WHL and Euros

The hitting is so awesome. I lose games because I go out of position so much to make a big hit.

i started the HUT mode several times. for the most part my teams were good, but once my best forward was kyle turris @ 79!

my best was my first one that i did. glad i won the tournament to get that bonus pack. its a little harder to do with hnat dominichelli anchoring your 2nd line!

My first was my best as well. I had Zetterberg, Getlaf, Chara, Markov, Turris, Suban, and a few others. Also, Vokun as my number 1 and some scrub named Luongo as my backup

So I did the create a new gamer profile to get the 1 month of gold free move, worked perfectly.

Gotta say that I'm really impressed with the tweaks in the gameplay. Pucks seems to bounce a bit more, passing is more refined without having to go all the way into the hardcore mode, and the goaltending is a little more realistic in terms of rebounds. The biggest change is the hitting, I love that you can bump guys to get position without it turning into a pre-determined animation. The players move a lot more realistically as well, nothing major but enough fine tuning to really make a difference.

I was always going to buy the game, but now I think I'll actually be happy to do so as opposed to bitching about it for months.

Authentic puck size and no shadowing is pure win. I really like that they've got that done this year.

Overall the game is pretty solid so far. Still want to get some more games in before any impression notes.

So in my first game versus the Windsor Spitfires, it's a 0-0 tie with 3 seconds left in the game. I'm shorthanded (from a massive boarding penalty) and the faceoff is in the offensive zone. Straka takes the draw, and the two centres tie each other up, with the puck sitting on the ice between their feet. So i take my RW, pick the puck up and instantly fire it on net. It bulges the twine just under the crossbar and I win the game with 1.5 second left. Who was my RW? The one, the only, Hnat Domenichelli.
