Brown is out after hernia surgery, Bushrod has been excellent thus far, plus Brees makes very quick decisions. Thomas is playing, but I imagine they'll ease him in after Bell's performance last week. Reggie Bush better have a good game after he kept the Lions in the game last week with his fumbles and poor play.

Raiders (Russell - needed a QB, jury is still out, but 1st overall money is usually only justified by a QB or OT);
Lions (Johnson is a stud, nothing wrong with this pick and shelf life for a WR is usually longer than a RB)
Browns (Thomas - outstanding OT. 2 time Pro Bowler, IIRC. Great pick. And because OTs justify that type of money longer, a better pick than Peterson).
After that, Tampa, Arizona and Washington, are a little harder to justify. I would say Tampa and Washington have the least justifiable reasons.
Bottom line, Peterson's a stud. Best player in the league. But even in hindsight, I don't know how much the top 3 would change their positions (even though I dont have much faith in Russell).

That scared the crap out of me when Bushrod limped off the field, thank God he's ok(even though Strief held up his own admirably).
Agreed about Bush too. With Bell and Thomas both stepping up in the running game, and with all the receiving weapons that Brees has to play with now that Shockey and Colston are actually healthy and Meachem's finally starting to live up to his draft status, its getting hard to justify having Reggie on the roster with that cap hit. I've always been a Reggie supporter, but he better bring it this season and show he can stay healthy in the process.

McNabb is doubtful for Sunday. Victor Abiamiri is questionable, which sucks. He's becoming a monster.

I'm holding off on all bets until I know for sure there's no McNabb....if he's not there, I'd put my money on the Saints to cover.

Just listening to Desean Jackson on the Jim Rome Show, and he said that he expects Kevin Kolb to start.

This team frustrates the hell out of me. Backs themselves up with two penalties, then a dropped pass on second down.

Dumb play-calling. Why go with all these cutesy trick plays and put your young QB in third and long? Just stupid.

Detroit's defense has been excellent thus far today.

No idea. Most of them have been working, but that double-reverse to the QB was ######ed.

I am about 90% sure that Brad Childress's beard makes him a worse coach.

Very nice throw for TD by Favre, rolling to the right and throwing back against the grain.
All that defensive effort by the Lions through the first 25 minutes is going to be meaningless now because their offense didn't get enough of a lead.
