Montana avenges it's lone loss of the season and beats Weber St. 24-13 today in Missoula!
Montana is in the final 4!
http://scores.espn.go.com/ncf/boxsco...0149&confId=20
Richmond upset 3 time defending champions Appalachian State 33-13 and James Madison has a 4 point lead on Villanova in the 4th quarter. UNH and UNI play tonight!
Good stuff!

Well as an Alabama fan, this day sucks, but looking back on the year it's been a pretty pleasant surprise. I was thinking it would be at least another year before Bama was at this level.

oh man, chase daniel with a brutal fumble to give the ball right back to the sooners and they punish the tigers by depositing it right back in the endzone. can't do that Vs. the sooners if you want to have a sniff. yikes.

Oklahoma vs Florida can't wait.
Arguably the best two teams, unarguably the two hottest teams. Wonder what the over/under will be.

Montana will play James Madison in the Semis next week, a rematch from the 2004 Championship game.
The other Semifinal will see Northern Iowa facing Richmond in Cedar Falls.
Tough draw for the Griz, but the road to the Championship goes through Harrisonburg and there is hope as Villanova gave JMU a good scare.
Here's hoping for a UNI/UM final!

I doubt it, but what would be monumentally epic would be bama/texas 1/2.
If you go back through the thread you'll notice I went from no playoff to playoff because really I think Texas and USC both deserve a shot.

If Florida isnt in the bcs championship they should just tell the bcs to stick it up there a** and not even show up to the game.
Even the CBS announcers were saying if Florida doesnt make it they are not watching.
Bama will not be number 2. OU shouldnt be number 1 but what ever.

I'd like to see Alabama/Texas in the Sugar Bowl, but they'll likely split them up.
Bama/Utah in the Sugar is the rumor, blech.

Yep another BCS season completed...another boondoggle as to who should be playing in the NC game.
No question, right now, the two hottest teams in the country are Fla/OK and that will likely be the game. Should be a decent one as well except that now we wait 32 days for "hot" teams to match up. Who knows what happens between now and then.
Texas is the one getting raped tho....and this is why if i EVER hear the old refrain from the pro BCS crowd that "the regular season IS a playoff" i will slap em back to reality. Really? Then why is it, if that is the case, does Oklahoma get in over Texas when they played at a neutral site and Texas WON. What happens ON the field apparently really doesn't matter and therefor there is no "playoff" games at all in the regular season, rendering those games just as important as any of the others.
It's a severly flawed system whether or not some will admit it.

The regular season is the playoff. I guess you missed the Texas Ttech game.
Oklahoma / Texas / TTech all beat each other. How the BigXII is determined was not up to the BCS, it was determined by the BigXII. Now, I guess they all could have played a round robin here through December, or maybe you'd prefer a best 2 of 3 each against each other, but the BigXII sorts our who their champion is. Like I've said before knowing Texas is better is like knowing Paper is the best in rock/paper/scissors.
Anyway the best 2 teams are playing each other (I presume if they don't then the BCS criteria is broken) So there's no problem.
It's not a perfect system, it has hiccups, and it has certain people way to fixated on NC's, but it's the best system we got, BigXII commissioner was on last night and he agreed, the other major conferences agree with him and they have successfully grown NCAA sports and football in particular in leaps and bounds in the past 15 years.
Playoff may have given us a Ohio State - Alabama final and somehow that would be a better matchup than Florida - Oklahoma? Riiigh.

Really eh? how do you know that? I know one way it could be determined...this season certainly didn't, because if that was the case Texas would not be on the outside looking in. Funny thing about this argument is one you repeatedly make...that the regular season counts for so much more than other sports. No it doesnt and this proves it.

If OSU or Bama defeat Texas/OK/USC/Penn St through the playoffs....then yes, why would anyone have a problem with that? thats what EVERY other league in the world does fer god sakes.

The same CBS announcers who practically blow their load to anything SEC?
I understand that CBS has a contract with the SEC, but show a little professionalism. I almost had to turn yesterday's game off from the announcers praising anything and everything Tebow does.
I still love that the SEC is known for it's tough defenses, especially LSU. Florida puts up 50+ every week and they're the greatest team in college football history. OU does it and it's simply "try and do that in the SEC".
I still don't understand the sentiment of Texas beating OU. There was a three-way tie for first in the Big 12 South and all three teams were 1-1. If Texas got picked to beat Mizzou then Tech Texas will complaining that they beat Texas.
A playoff system wouldn't fix any of this. Throw an 8 team playoff system in there and only 2 of Texas, TT, and OU are in it. Someone's always going to be unhappy.
