Glad they weren't able to talk Brown into hanging them up for the "casual scout" position with a 20% raise. Heck of a bonus for the 15 points he's going to put up for them.
Must say McDavid is having a rough go of it in his young stint as GM (most recent Nurse and Brown signings, namely)
Cautionary tale around signing your buddies and give them McFriend premiums in a cap league.

15 points? He’s on pace to finish the year with no goals and 4 assists.

New power rankings out on TSN and yes I know power rankings are stupid and pointless but the Oilers are ranked 12th@&$&&
The Flames are ranked 21st I think and the statement is made that they are 21 and 22 on many stats league wide so the Flames are placed perfectly.
The Oilers on the other hand? Well they have won 4 in a row and… well…. McDavid.
FFFFUUUUUUU!

So, 9 points and six teams back after St. Louis's win in Vegas last night. It wasn't the "highly unlikely utopian" scenario I suggested, but this is not great for the Oilers.
Edmonton is no good.

When they say "the players" do they mean the wonder twins or do they have a vote in the locker room to see who should be the next goalie?
Quote:
What adds a layer of fascination to the prospect of Merzlikins donning an Oilers jersey is the considerable respect Oilers players reportedly hold for him. Recognizing his strong performances in both the league and world championships, it seems the team is comfortable with the idea of Merzlikins guarding their net. This is not to say the players don’t like Jack Campbell. But, if a change is made, it sounds like the players wouldn’t be opposed to Merzlikins being the chosen replacement.
|
It's great that the players approve management's moves though. It would be tough if they were to disagree on who should be in net and butt heads.
What a trainwreck!

"The players took a vote... they would be willing to have Igor Shesterkin or Linus Ullmark on the team. Just to be safe, make it both!"

Pospisil, the 4th round pick that CP ranked 21st in our prospect rankings this summer, has outperformed all of them combined.
By a fair margin.

That's the thing, the Oilers have let their prospects develop in the AHL and they have all been disappointing. Their entire organization is putrid from top to bottom

Saw this today, it is the funniest thing I have read so far this season. I am not sure how to link (or what I can link), so I just copied this to show.
"Edmonton Oilers’ Zach Hyman, Evan Bouchard among top Hart Trophy, Norris Trophy candidates, the Athletic says".

Lol. Seriously, there’s no way that these media clowns actually believe the drivel they write in regards to the Oilers. They can’t all be this dumb. Or maybe they are? Keep drinkin’ that kool-aid, ya morons.
