[News] Flames new reverse retro jersey thread

Received my Reverse Retro pre-order this morning.

Jersey is nice overall...the crest is absolutley gorgeous...but the hem is still awkward as there is kind of two different materials and the black reflects differently.

I picked mine up today as well and it looks really sharp. I think when it's all lettered up it's going to look even better, unfortunately there were none to buy already lettered. The two fabrics is weird but I found it less noticably in person.

Agree it is less noticeable in person than in photos.

The color difference is less noticeable in person, because you really notice the different reflection of the black material in pictures but not in person.

Unfortunately that does not appear to be the case.

For anyone else wondering nhlshop and fanatic are not offering customization online. They told me to check back in a couple weeks. My size will sell out by then. Very disappointed but not surprised by the lack of foresight on their behalf.

For the record the only option online with a name and number is Markstrom on the Breakaway jerseys. There is no crested Authentic options.

If anyone knows any way to get that done online please message me. On top of that if anyone can confirm if they have Lucic available at the dome id appreciate the heads up....maybe one of my local buddies can snag it for me and mail it out. Here in Halifax Flames gear is pretty limited...

Don't order through NHL.com. Based on other threads here, their quality is awful.

If you have to order online, do it directly with the Flames at https://www.flamesport.com/. They will do customization, and it should be the same quality as the players' jerseys.

They have free shipping anywhere in Canada on orders over $150.

Edit: Beat to it, but yeah, try to avoid the Fanatics store at all costs. Even if you get it crested from there their quality control is brutal. Best to go through the team.

Order through the CGY Team Store, not the NHL store or Fanatics.

Can confirm this. I didn't know there would be such a difference. I just bought a youth away jersey customized with Kadri 91 from NHL.com. The jersey that arrived had tiny vinyl letters ironed on and not in the official font or correct colour. The 91 was made of the same cheap vinyl and also not in the correct Flames font.

I complained about it and they said no returns on custom orders. I complained a lot more and they agreed to a full refund. Shockingly bad quality for a 200 dollar jersey.

Just picked mine up. The black paneling isn’t really noticeable in person. I think it looks fantastic!

Yeah ... I would only ever order something blank from NHLShop, and honestly I find you can usually get better deals from somewhere like Sportchek or the CGY Team Store.

NHLShop has been *terrible* — terrible! — at customization for as long as I can remember. Back in the Reebok days, they were still cresting Flames jerseys with old leftover lettering from the 90s. Looked so cheap and garish.

Lol. I ordered a Kadri jersey from NHLShop. Waited 5 weeks and I finally reached out to support to ask where it was. They told me they were sold out and just automatically gave me a full refund. Would have been nice to have been actually notified earlier.

I was initially pretty annoyed. I really want the jersey. But now I’m actually a bit relieved after reading all of these store reviews regarding quality.

Yeah ... for Flames jerseys, just go to CGY Team Store. Locations at Southcentre, North Hill, the Airport, and the Saddledome. They're usually pretty accommodating and their customization is of high quality. Wouldn't go anywhere else.

I ordered mine on the first day they were available for pre-order. For some reason I thought they were going to be ready on the 15th, so I stopped into CGY team store today. I guess for those of us who ordered cresting, that process only began on the 15th, and can take up to 4 weeks.

I don't know about getting a jersey you can't wear to games. Plus, the cheaper version the breakaway the red looks different.
