I don’t care how many people die or whether the earth is irreparably damaged for future generations, two straight months of 25-33C weather every day with no rain is heaven. Climate change is the gift that keeps on giving.

So we’re supposed to feel guilty now whenever we get a spell of hot weather?
Extremes of -30 to +30 have always been a feature of this city’s climate. Getting to enjoy a hot summer without smoke and sit on the back deck in shorts and a t-shirt at 9 pm is a memory to cherish and invoke the next time it’s-30 and dark at 4 pm.

Well that’s just great.
First the heat wave, and now it looks as though we’ll have some pirates to deal with on top of that.

This thunderstorm is gods way of letting me know my relatives from Winnipeg just crossed the Alberta border.

Your post made me curious so I went and checked the last 5 years of temperatures to see how often we hit +30 and -30 at any time during a given day. I added this year on just for fun. It looks like you'll only have to invoke the memory of hot days once or twice a year on average.
+30 Days
2022 - Jul 12/28/29, Aug 1/7/11/12/13
2021 - Jun 2/3/14/22/26/27/28/29/30, Jul 1/10/14/30/31, Aug 1/3/5/13/14/15
2020 - Aug 16/17/18
2019 - Jul 23, Aug 2/21
2018 - Jul 6/13/16/17/30, Aug 9/10/22
2017 - Jun 26, Jul 7/9/13/15/23/27, Aug 13/23/27/30, Sept 2/6/7

Yeah I could do with 1 rain day a week just to keep things green (and hopefully entice a nice light-show), but that aside I'm absolutely loving this weather. Yesterday I went for a nice run, then chilled out by the Bow in the afternoon, then treated to a nice lightning show on my balcony in the evening. Just the best. Can't believe how nice July & Aug have been after such a mild June.
Perhaps it's recency bias, but I'm born and (mostly) raised here, and I can't recall a sustained heatwave here like this before. Looks like it's going to be exactly like this right through the end of August.

Lol triggered!
I’m amazed (but not really) you were able to take a throwaway comment made in jest about our good weather and how it relates to climate change and turn it into an old man rant.

Half of my body feels sunburned. The little bit of rain today was nice.
