I heard from my jersey guy that Adidas will also be going with more of an "eco-friendly" material this year. That and the updated crest are the reason Pro hockey life, etc are having clearance sales on adidas pro jerseys recently.
Really like scouching's videos because he can be quite hyper critical on the advanced stats, though this year he seemed to have quite the sweedish bias especially on Lysell.
With that said, just listening to the first few minutes on Matthew I think we've hit a homerun in terms of need on this team.
Outside of the obvious RHS/RW which we desperately lacked, coupled with the shoot first high scoring winger which we also really needed.
His effective entry zone with possession stats are insane, and the Flames could use a guy who not only loves getting the puck in but is also really good at it.
Give it a watch if you haven't I really hope this guys on the roster in a year or so.

Button mentioned that they also see him as a C. Hope Harvard and the Flames try him there. Could use a puck dominant transition beast who also scores in all kinds of ways and who models himself after Point in the middle of the ice
I guess I won't lie and say I'm not worried at all about him refusing to sign, but I think the chance is tiny.
And even if that tiny chance materializes, he's going to let the Flames know this. And at that point, the Flames will trade him so you don't the pick for nothing. You'd probably be able to extract some decent value out of an Eastern team, which is what I assume his preference would be.
I said earlier, Coranato was a top 15 pick. He's not likely going to be waiting 4 years to sign a pro contract.
Heck, if he has a really good year in college we may see him sign as early as next summer, but in all likelihood he's signed after his 2nd year of college ends and is with the Flames for a cup of coffee at the end of the 2022/23 season.
Just like Cole Caufield for example. Taken 15th overall in 2019, and signed after his 2nd college season, played a handful of AHL games and then got a shot with the Habs.

Overall, pretty excited about the pick.
This is the right way to look at it. I mean, we just had a guy who went to the same school that we couldn't sign win the Norris this year. So it's fair to have the risk on your mind but really no sense worrying about it.
I don't know how many NHLers Harvard has produced but would be interesting to know how many were drafted and how many left before finishing their degree.
Since Sillinger went right before the Flames pick, I would be very curious to know who the Flames would have taken if given the choice between Sillinger and Coranato.

You may attend a camp with a professional team for up to 48 hours if they are covering expenses or longer if you cover all expenses.
This is true and they are also not allowed to play exhibition games against other teams (intrasquad games are okay). They can also only use the 48 hour expenses once per team.
but the NCAA doesn't allow their players to attend camps while classes are in session. This is why unsigned NCAA players never attend training camps in fall. Development camps in the summer are fair game.
So did anyone pick up the subtle burn Coronoto made in his press availability?
A reporter asked if he modeled his game after Johnny and his reply: " Johnnys an awesome player but my game isn't really close to his, he's a super skilled player and no I don't think we are alike at all, my game is about compete level."

as in "I succeed by playing hard and crashing to the net"
it wasn't a shot at Johnny

Not to derail the thread, but are the Flames planning a development camp for this summer? Or has Covid made it impossible?
