and in general, I wouldn't write off Real just yet. There's a bit of a rebuilding phase, but it's nothing like the Barca mess and I expect them to rebound soon. Camavinga has been a steal for them, Mbappe is surely coming next summer and they've made quite a bit of money by selling players, so who knows who else they might add. I wouldn't even be surprised if they signed Haaland in addition to Mbappe.
Yeah, wishful thinking.

Yeah, Real still have the strongest finances in the Liga.

Really, it's Barcelona that's the newsmaker. They're not even at the Liga average for spend; €97m to €113m

I wonder if the separatists will sell out Catalan independence for a federal bail-out of Barca, just so that they keep up to RM?

I think it's gonna take them developing from La Massia again, and the Terroristas™, would lose their marbles if a bail-out were to occur.

Here I was so glad to have EPL back and the international break over. Nothing like our best player missing a couple games to bring me back to earth.

At the same time, while there are too many breaks, we have no one to thank here but Levy. Obviously we needed another striker and yet again he failed to deliver.

This Leicester-Man Utd match has gone bonkers the last few minutes.

Wolves! Out of nowhere, after a thoroughly miserable performance. Perhaps we are not getting relegated. Leeds, OTOH, look troubled...
And, of course, Leicester, thank you from all of us who stand shoulder to shoulder against evil!

What a collapse by Villa in the last 10 minutes there, I’m still in shock

I read that also and I’m hopeful that’s the case. We can’t have him out, as that crowd will be raucous enough and it’s Bruce’s 1000th game before he gets sacked. Hopefully, we ruin the party for once.

Newcastle-Spurs has been suspended after a medical emergency in the crowd late in the first half. Ref has sent the players off for now. Spurs are up 2-1.

Apparently that fan is awake and responsive. That’s the biggest news.

it's unlikely to happen because they'll just throw money at it in January, but man, Newcastle getting relegated would be so, so, so sweet.

I don’t know how unlikely it is. That’s a bad team and despite having money, how many player are signing on for a relegation battle? That’s not even considering a manager. Conte is the big name out there at this point, and you can’t think he’s interested in taking that over.

Just in case anyone is unaware, Newcastle have been bought by the country of Saudi Arabia, and they are going to spend literally billions of pounds on players in the coming years. This is a proxy war between Abu Dhabi (Manchester City) and now Saudi Arabia (Newcastle). It won't matter if they get relegated, Newcastle will be playing in the spring matchdays in the Champions League within five seasons.

yeah no ####. Still rather delay the inevitable and have them hit some obstacles along the way.
