Matthias Norstrom was traded to the Kings for Shane Churla and Darryl Sydor was traded the Stars for him.

Oh and Mark Rypien is the only player who has come on in relief of Peyton Manning in a regular season game.

Your question was good, but there are so many more possibiliies for a good "Who Am I" question when the relation to the Calgary Flames is not a requirement. That is why many of us now ignore that rule when we come up with a question.

Trade deadline edition

PLAYER A

I started and ended my NHL career with the same team.

I was traded from that team at the trade deadline one year for a 3rd round draft pick, which was used to select player B.

PLAYER B

During my career in the NHL I was traded twice at the trade deadline.

The first time I was traded at the deadline I was traded along with a 3rd round draft pick, which was used to select player C

PLAYER C

I have won two NHL awards.

Last year, I was rumoured to possibly be traded on deadline day.

WHO ARE WE?

Since I am pretty confident I am correct on the last question, I've made a new one.. I've never made one before so I have no idea if this will be hard or easy.. but here goes:


Player A
- I began and ended my NHL career with the same franchise.
- I was traded 4 times, once at the deadline.
- The total number of Stanley Cup rings posessed by all players I have been traded for numbers 4
- The 3rd time I was traded, I was traded for Player B

Player B
- I began and ended my NHL career with the same franchise
- I played 7 seasons in the NHL without playing a game in the minors.
- Yet still played parts of 6 seasons in the IHL, 2 in the AHL.
- I was traded twice, The first time for Player C

Player C
- I was traded 3 times, and played for 6 NHL franchises.
- In my final NHL season, I led my team in scoring despite it being only my 8th best statistical season
- I was a teammate of player D in that final season

Player D
- I am currently on my 7th NHL franchise.
- I have been traded 6 times, 3 times at the deadline
- I have played for 3 Canadian teams
- I have been traded for a draft pick 3 times
- I have signed as a Free Agent in the NHL twice.

WHO ARE WE???

Josh Green has never been traded at the deadline.

It is tough because not many guys have played for seven teams. Chad Kilger? He has played for four Canadian teams. Petr Nedved? He's only played for two. Could be a trick question with the wording...

Green may not have been traded right on the deadline day but he was traded away from Calgary right around the deadline with McLennan and Betts in a deal that saw Chris Simon come to Calgary.

Hey guys... Sorry I haven't been by to drop some hints, been out of town.

- Josh Green is a very good guess but it's not him. Player D has enjoyed far more success at the NHL level than Green... Player D has played almost 800 games in the NHL but less than 20 in the playoffs. His best two statistical seasons were with 2 different Canadian teams.

More hints:
- All 4 are position players (no goalies)
- Only players A and D have played for the Flames.
- Player A was selected in the 1980 entry draft.
- Player C's first Free Agent contract was offered to him by his former coach, Larry Pleau.
- (as you've probably guessed) only player D is active.

Also, there is a typo with Player C: He was actually traded 3 times.

Everything fits except the free agent signing. He's signed three times as a free agent, not two. But I think its too much of a coincidence that everything else fits.
