Just look how many FA goalies are available this year. Then factor in teams with 2 quality starters who could lose 1 for nothing in expansion ie. Columbus/Rangers just to name a couple.

Could just as easily get a short term option like Khudobin for now and see what's available thru trade to get that legit #1 guy who ends up being considerably younger than Markstrom.

Markstrom's the big name on the market at the moment but really has only 2 good years and has been inconsistent and injured throughout his career playing over 50 games only twice.

Personally very hesitant tying up big $$ and especially term on him.

Understand as Flames fans we want the goalie carousel to stop and get a long term legit #1 but I'm not at all convinced that Markstrom is that guy.

seems like nothing but speculation still. oilers and vancouver being out doesn't mean he's coming here, lots of other teams need a goalie. Though I hope he's right
