I guess I'll disagree and say I'm not a fan of York's jerseys. I think it's mostly that I just don't like that shade of green - a darker shade would have gone better. But also, the racing stripe look doesn't do it for me.
I'm also not quite as thrilled with ours. It's not bad, but the look is a bit too busy for me. IMO, sticking with the single diagonal stripe but using that darker red would have been pretty sharp.
Hamilton's is atrocious though. Yeech.

I really really hope Cavalry at some point goes with the full on Christmas colours for a kit. I'd be all over that.

Has a bit of the look of the Danish 80s Hummel kits.
I preferred the scarlet red TBH, but I realize I'm in the minority.
Calgary and Edmonton are the best looking IMO.

If the sections totals here are correct, there are 4994 seats available if you don't include officers club or general admission, or accessible seating.
FWIW That means something like 2,037 tickets sold so far. Likely closer to 2,200 if you include the officer club and accessible seating ( granted my math and estimates could be wrong).
I have a hard time beleiving that many more will be sold before single tickets are on sale, and after that it will be nearly impossible to know how many seasons tickets were sold.

At the jersey launch, Ian Allison mentioned that season ticket sales were up over last year. No idea on numbers, I'm going to try and ask him tonight.

Joel Waterman got an assist on a nice flick on off a set piece today.
With the CB injuries to Montreal I could see him getting extended time starting for the club.

I think he'll get quite a bit of playing time given that they lost 2 CB's to long term injuries against Saprissa.
Thought it was a typical Waterman game. Some decent passing and defensive play. One assist. One horrendous giveaway that led to a breakaway. One foul that led to a goal against (which was eventually called back).

RE: Open Trials
Don’t expect anyone to get a look at the team from them, which is really no surprise. Tommy was pretty disappointed in the quality. The top 15 trialists had an exhibition against the Foothills U20s, who were apparently far superior.
Apparently there was a Foothills tier III goalie there, and one player who went through the Foothills system and was not selected to play on the U23s or U20s, so they were really confused (annoyed) as to why they came.
90 trialists, 0 potentials...but almost 15k for the club!

Any word as to whether or not they would do the same again next year?

Can’t say I’m too surprised. Most talents would be identified by 18, and the rest of us not training at that high level degrade pretty quick.
What the Cavs should do is host an adult fantasy camp for those of us who are clearly not scoring any professional contracts but willing to part with some cash (say $150-300 per day, 2-4 days, depending on what they throw in) for the opportunity to have Tommy and the boys run us through some drills, get some insights, and play a game on ATCO field. A few MLS teams do it and it’s a blast.

I’m not sure, but I bet they’ll do it every year. Good $ for the club and good marketing. As much of a pain in the arse it may be for the staff.

Have to say, our annual Foot Soldiers convention was a major hit. We had about 60-70 people show up, and it was standing room only in the entire back area of the Rose & Crown. We managed to get 30 deposits for a bus up to Edmonton for the April 18 game, so it looks like that's going to happen.
The club mentioned last night that they have sold a few hundred more season tickets than last year, which I think is a good sign. Tommy seems genuinely excited every year we hold these as there is tangible growth from year to year.
A couple photos (spoilered for size):

I wish I could have made it yesterday.
I saw this just now, and I was thinking how awesome it would be to do a Tommy Wheeldon Jr. tifo like this...

The club is working on getting a rigging system up behind section 200 where we can hang small scale tifo. We would be the only CPL club with this type of set up. It's not going to make for massive tifos as it's only 6' by 13', but it gives us some options.

I was talking to someone who has seen them, and they claim that the away shirts are really nice. Release is sometime in April I guess, and time will tell, but FWIW, maybe they'll look great with a black/red/white kind of thing.
