If Monahan had any ability to move the puck up the ice himself and create and distribute, then we’d see it more, but he’s incapable. He’s a lot like James Neal in the sense that he needs someone to find him open so he can use his lethal shot to score in the slot.
The thing about Monahan that’s bugged me all series is his whiffs. There was one again in the 1st period tonight. That’s 4 instances in 4 different games that he’s done that. It’s as if the game is too fast for his brain to process right now.
