Talbot, Draisatl, McDavid and Larsson are unequivocaly the core, in that order. All others are expendable. And without the first 2, this series was a sweep.

A game 7 loss is a much better learning experience than a game 7 win. I wasn't really paying attention to who said that but I think it was the Oilers coach?

Congrats.

I never win lotto or sport select, so I did bet for oilers tonight. You're welcome.

With the Oilers/Ducks series going to Game 7, That's Hockey says games like this are the reason why Edmonton signed Milan Lucic, and discusses whether Anaheim's history of failure in Game 7s will weigh on them.

Dude was invisible tonight. Enjoy the rest of the contract Oilers.

Eagerly awaiting the ATL report. I think this game deserves one.

If so, great quote by Todd McLellan. They are masters of losing in the regular season, but now they know how to lose in the playoffs. Here's to hoping that they lose when they make they playoffs in 10 years again.

Questions:
1. How many goals did McDavid and Draisaitl score in the most important game of the season?
2. How many goals did Eberle and Nugent-Hopkins score in the playoffs?

Honestly, I think the Oilers take a step back next year (while McDavid still puts up points), and I think the Oilers' window might close after next season when McDavid's contract kicks in.

There's lots of love for the Oilers on twitter right now from prominent media members, but I'm not sure I share their optimism. A lot of things went right for the Oilers this year, and they are going to have cap difficulties. They may make the playoffs, but there certainly isn't any guarantee that they ever become a true cup contender.

They need Talbot to repeat his stellar season. I'm not sure he keeps that level. He's good, but plenty of goalies have a great year followed by a lesser one.

Annnnnnd Nuge and Eberle have STILL never scored a playoff goal. Gotta love that production for 12 million a season!!

Oh, you mean the contract that, along with Eberle and the Tenderness, will prevent EDM from resigning both McDavid and Draisatl?

Much more pressure too...no more

"I just hope they are playing meaningful games" "its all gravy"
