Well, I hope I'm wrong, and the Sharks win in 5.

Oilers played good but the Sharks didn't show up.
I'm so surprised the hit in the 3rd, I think, where Kassian left his feet wasn't called.
Didn't matter though because SJ did nothing with their power plays anyway.
Play off games shouldn't be so lopsided. The Montreal game earlier was what the playoffs are all about. A few minor penalties for the usual little things and the rest was straight up hockey.

Sharks looked like a team that was satisfied with the split and wasn't totally invested in winning game 2.

The Sharks' atrocious PP was the difference. End of story. They know exactly what they did wrong, and you can bet they'll be much better in game 3. And if Thornton comes back, that's another huge boost for them. Not just leadership-wise, but because he's the engine that drives their PP. Had he been in the lineup last night, I guarantee you wouldn't see 2 shorties against.
As someone mentioned above, we'll see what the Oilers are really made of when they're away from the Cup parade atmosphere of their home rink and hillbilly fans.

Tough end to the regular season for the Flames. If we could have finished hot we'd have one of these two teams and judging by their play, they would have been great draws.
Instead, we've got arguably a Stanely Cup contender in round one.

This is exactly the kind of hit the league should and must eliminate by stiffly punishing offenders. Failure to do so will further legitimize the head injury lawsuit against the league and could allow damages from the suit to be extended to include injuries to current players, potentially costing the league millions of dollars. And on a more human level, allowing intentional attempts to injure to go unpunished simply isn't right.

Kassian has never been anything but a dirt bag, sure I'm happy that he got help for his apparent personal problems and overcame those. But players like him that take liberties are the reason why the Instigator rule has to go away.
When the NHL tried to get rid of the instigator it just created the rise of the dirtbag cheapshot artist.
I wouldn't lose any sleep if someone put him out of action.

Rimor has it that Oilers are trying to ink Spencer Foo for the playoffs.
“ He’s greasy. He just does a lot of little things that are fun to watch. He’s got electric speed, hands, guts. He’s not afraid to try something difficult. He’s been good. He’s just fun to watch and he plays with an edge.”
Foo played 38 games this season with Union College. He scored 26 goals and registered 36 assists for a total of 62 points.

Union College forward Spencer Foo attended Oilers game last night. Edmonton is hoping to sign the local lad, but other teams in mix as well.

as per Darren Dreger.

I'd pity him if he signed there.

San Jose will have last change for the next two games and can get their desired matchups. I look forward to McDavid getting frustrated by Pavelski. I also think Jumbo will be in the lineup.

Thornton was skating this morning and sounds like he will take the warm up tonight and be a game time decision. Hopefully he plays.

Probably an indicator as to why they're pretty consistent underachievers.

Be interesting how this one goes.
Tale of two totally different games.
Oil dominated, then dominant.
Hope the Sharks come to play again.

This is amazing. 48 on the Sharks is laughing about something...all of sudden Kassian skates up to him with this dead look in his eyes and just stares at the guy. The Sharks player stops laughing and to be honest looks a little freaked out. Kassian skates away.

Death stare?
Kassian was saying something to Hertl, and then looked at him as Hertl responded.
That's how most human conversations go. Weird for Kassian, but let's give him enough credit to be able to pay attention to someone talking.

This is how most human conversations go? Haha. Okay. Watch that video and you think, "Yep, just a normal conversation."
So you just walk up to people, stare at them creepily, mutter one syllable, walk off...werido.
