I think if hte Flames had any kind of goal support, Johnson wouldn't be a bad 1a for this team going forward on a short term deal until a goalie prospect is ready and you get a few years out of them on a good deal.
I think if the Flames had a 25 goal scorer on this roster the Flames would be a playoff team and I see that happening next year.
The lack of scoring is such a hurdle unless you have elite level goaltending with a complimentary defence. The flames have neither, so, best to try to load up a bit on offense until some prospects give you the flexibility to be more balanced.
