I'm actually glad to see Backlund not celebrate that goal at all. He at least appears to get it.

Just drop em Monahan, you're never going to get an easier matchup than Vatanen.

I was going to call that a Quintessential Taylor Hall marshmallow point, but then he didn't jump into the boards screaming

Small and skilled doesn't beat the Ducks. Or the Kings. Or maybe the Sharks. Flames are in this division for the foreseeable future. Until the Flames start turning large parts of the roster over and get away from the prior GM's vision for this team, they're going to get worn down game in and game out against those teams 5 times each, each season.
Players that are big and play like kittens don't help, Hamilton.

Sorry Monahan, I've got no time for you getting wound up with less than 10 seconds of a dead game left to go. Maybe try playing with a bit more emotion earlier in the game perhaps? If there is one aspect of his play that really annoys and concerns me, it's his lack of physicality. The guy is one of the bigger men on the team, yet he plays a butter soft style. If we are to ever do anything against the Ducks/Kings of this world, he has to start hitting and getting physical.

Beat them every single game last season and even a couple of games against the Ducks.

Yep. He'll be searching for a new contract somewhere next year.
Can't wait till Jones is off this team, but to be fair, he was actually quite good for the 1st month of this season or so. Problem is, ever since mid-November he's played like absolute crap the rest of this season with very little exception.
