Absolutely with Hopkins on this. He's the 3rd leading receiver from last year yet he's the 3rd highest paid on his OWN team, behind a rookie.
Texans would've had no issues cutting him if he didn't perform the first few years. Now that he's an elite receiver he deserves to get paid like one. Makes perfect sense for him wanting to get paid now in a profession with a short life span.
To anyone who says, "well he signed a contract" he signed what was fair at the time he was drafted, Texans or any team would've easily cut him if he didn't perform. Goes both way, he's performed way above expectations, he needs to get paid.
Also, I hope the PA has the balls to go after guaranteed contracts next time. Even if it's a lost season.

100% agree. If players in the NFL hold out for more money, I have no issue with it. Owners make millions off of these players, they definitely deserve guaranteed contracts.

I'd be happy to see the Chiefs grab a guy like Foles to back up Alex Smith.

The Kansas City Chiefs and former Los Angeles Rams quarterback Nick Foles have agreed to terms on a contract, sources confirmed Wednesday night to ESPN.
The deal will be for one year with a team option for a second season, a source said.
Foles will reunite with Chiefs coach Andy Reid, who was head coach of the Eagles when Philadelphia made Foles a third-round draft pick in 2012
Imagine, for a moment, being Joey Bosa's mother. Your 21-year-old son is the only NFL draft pick not in training camp. Being an outlier casts a negative light on him; while some fans side with him, others naturally back the team. You believe your son is being dragged through the mud by an organization that has not communicated with Bosa's agent since July 28, that has yet to propose a contract structure resembling recent deals for a No. 3 overall pick. Oh, and by the way, had the home-state Jaguars drafted your son fifth overall instead of the Chargers at No. 3, none of this would be a problem.
Well, she is reacting as parents sometimes do. A source authenticated a Facebook comment left by Cheryl Bosa on Sunday afternoon. In it, she voices frustration at the situation. "It bums me out for him so much," she wrote to a friend. "Wish we pulled an Eli Manning on draft day."
I'm actually excited about this. Hope a fresh start is all he needed. I wanted the Browns to draft him back when.
Just think of all the draft picks they saved by not making that deal.
No doubt, I'll be intrigued to see how RG3 fairs this time around. He should be a bit humbled by what happened to him in Washington.
I guess the question is, can he learn the pro style offence well enough to be a pocket passer first, and still use running to help gain yards? Ever since he wrecked his knee on that awful field in the playoffs, he's definitely a step or 3 slower than he previously was. As soon as teams didn't have to fear him running, he lost all effectiveness.

RGIII is the prototypical one read QB. Unless he's become better at scanning the field, he's a placeholder until the Browns draft a QB, likely next year.

I booked a trip down to dallas to catch a stars game on a saturday and a Cowboys/Ravens game on sunday. Anyone have any tips they can share with me for going to the cowboys game?
I have only been to the stadium once and we bought row 1 tickets to the game (pre-season, so was cheap). So I don't know where to look for tickets.
Lane Johnson has apparently been suspended 10 games for PED violation. The real kicker here is the violation could give the Eagles grounds to void the guaranteed $35 million in his recent extension. Ouch.

Johnson reportedly told Jay Glazer of FOX Sports that he tested positive for a performance-enhancing drug. Per Glazer's Twitter account:
Just heard from Lane Johnson, says he took an amino acid that was approved but tested positive for peptide. Fighting it as well as company. You're responsible for what goes in your body but he insists it was approved. Waiting on B sample
His agent also put out a statement:

1. We are aware that a member of the media has started a rumor that Lane will be suspended for a PED violation.
2. Lane has not been suspended and any report to the contrary is false.
3. Nonetheless, we will not comment on my client’s protected health information.
