Kimbo Slice and Ken Shamrock both failed drug tests at Bellator 149, MMA Fighting has learned.
Slice and Shamrock had banned substances in their system per the results of pre-fight drug tests, multiple sources said. Bellator 149 took place Feb. 19 in Houston, Texas.
Earlier today, UFC champion Nate Diaz sat down with “Extra’s” Charissa Thompson at Universal Studios Hollywood, where he chatted about his newfound fame after his huge win against Conor McGregor at UFC 196 last weekend.
After Diaz’s win, Justin Bieber took to social media to voice his displeasure by posting a pic of McGregor and writing, “Still the champ.”
EDIT: I guess he won TUF 5, but he's only fought for a belt twice in 30 fights. Once in the WEC and once the UFC, both LW and both times he lost convincingly.
The dude is tough, and he's fought a ton of tough fighters, but he's 19-10.

BJ Penn is 16-10 is one of the greatest fighters of all time. This isn't boxing where fighters rack up a 49-1 record without competition to pad their stats. Nate isn't even close to BJ's level, no question, but the guy has been fighting in the UFC for 10 years and only ever been finished once.
Records are a very misleading stat if you just think the read all the same.
Rory Macdonald is "only" 9-3 in the UFC, 2 loses to the same guy. TKO'd twice and I think a close decision to Lawler. To beat him you have to go to hell and back, a complete stud. (Condit the other one) His 9-3 record is a lot more amazing then just the numbers 9-3 would look
When you talk about Nate, in the last 5 years he's lost to the champ twice (current Dajos and the champ at the time) Henderson and the No.1 contender in the 185lb division (Rory who is a beast)... oddly enough the other loss was that only time he was finished to a guy no longer in the UFC as he's had a had time climbing that final step and locking down a contract there with wins
love the fight game, but records mean nothing unless you remember the fights that earned them it as they tell a much better perspective of the fighter

Records aren't everything, but they certainly aren't meaningless. The best don't usually lose 1/3 of their fights, and that's usually against other top fighters.
That was point. While Nate is certainly tough as hell, he's not one of the best fighters, and certainly isn't or wasn't ever a UFC champion.

BJ is 16-10 but that's because he had one win in his last 7 fights. He's considered one of the greatest when he's held a championship in two divisions. That's what people will remember, rightly or wrongly.
So many good fights for MacGregor but he's gonna go up to 170 and fight Diaz again?
Bizarre. I guess money talks. I won't mind a full build up to this fight though. The trash talk will go on and on and on haha.
I don't see the 2nd fight going much differently though, unless MacGregor gets used to the extra size and doesn't gas so easily. But Diaz will also have more time to get into top notch fight shape with a full camp too.
You're going to see two things differently for McGregor in the next fight. First thing is he won't ignore the reach advantage Diaz has and 2nd you're going to see a lot more leg kicks from him.
Stay to the outside, kick kick kick. McGregor has to grind out this out to the later rounds.

I'm actually curious to see how this goes. Joe Lauzon put out a prediction video before the Diaz fight and said he thought Conor would gas because he wouldn't be used to the extra weight. Maybe he'll be able to get used to the extra size.
Gilbert Melendez has said that before the first fight, Nate went to bed weighing 183 lbs. So you were looking at a fight where Nate weighed just over 180lbs and McGregor was just over 165, that's a huge difference. McGregor should make this fight at 155 at least.
Conor's gameplan will need to change, he's not putting Diaz out with one shot, he'll have to use leg kicks and build up to a finish. Nate needs to just do what he normally does.

Another intriguing welterweight fight is coming to Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.
The UFC is targeting Donald Cerrone vs. Patrick Côté for the June 18 card in Canada's capital city, MMAFighting.com has learned. The promotion is expected to announce the 170-pound fight shortly.
Cerrone (29-7, 1 NC) was victorious in his UFC welterweight debut last month when he submitted Alex Oliveira via triangle choke.
Steve Bosse . . . Canadian light heavyweight with 10 wins in the last 11, and completely KO's James Te Huna tonight. This dude is going to be fun to watch especially since our lads from this side of the border have been under the radar quite a bit lately.
