Just to much depth for him to make the team right now ? I really liked his play through the rookie camp and young stars tournament. I thought he was one of the most effective forwards through it all.

Woah... interesting AHL transactions showing Hartzel was released a day after signing a PTO with Stockton.
That either means Poulin is okay or they are getting another goalie somehow.

Can anybody who follows the heat closer than I do bring any insight as to why Morrison hasn't been playing?
I've only seen highlights/stats, but I was expecting him to have a big year. I know Stockton had a ton of d men. Is he getting scratched? Injured?

OK guys I'm going to the game tonight. I'll offer my insights as best I can when I on the team and individual players when I get back. The problem is I really have nothing to compare them to since I can't watch the Heat regularly, but I'll do my best.
I'm personally most interested in the D-corps to watch how they perform.

.@FWKomets netminder Pat Nagle heads to the Heat! Learn more about Pat & the other changes bit.ly/1MRMFjd
Heat sign goalie Pat Nagle to PTO
Quote:
The Stockton Heat, proudly owned by the NHL’s Calgary Flames, sign goaltender Pat Nagle to a professional try-out and have loaned forward Ryan Lomberg to the team’s ECHL affiliate, the Adirondack Thunder. Goaltender Eric Hartzell has been released from his pro tryout.
Nagle, 28, is in his second season with the Fort Wayne Komets and has gone 5-4-0 in 10 appearances this season with a 2.51 goals-against-average and .910 save-percentage. Last year with Fort Wayne, Nagle went 23-7-2 and earned four separate stints in the AHL.

He's not that good when he has played. It's stretches, not injury.
With 9 defencemen you either have to be good to play or have the last name "Kylington" to get ice time regardless of play.

I gather you've been less than impressed with Kylington's play, Drury?

So how is Kylington doing? Has he adapted well enough to the NA ice? Im sure he's stumbling a bit defensively and I expect that to take a couple of seasons but hows that offensive skill?

Actually, his defense is coming along well. He did not make any glaring errors tonight and was solid. All the defenders had an above average game.
Offensively, he's basically TJ Brodie with a better slap shot. Slick passes from his zone to the offensive blue line and lots of creative plays in the offensive zone. His slap shot is very hard and accurate.
Overall he has impressed me the most of the Stockton players, especially because he is two years younger than everyone else. If his defensive game continues to progress, he'll be a Flame this time next year. Too much skill to park on the farm team.

Klimchuk, Sieloff, and Shore have been struggling hard for most of the season.
Sieloff has at times been pretty good defensively, and then he'll make a really bad boneheaded pass that lands right on the stick of the opposing forward for a chance.
Klimchuk is playing more of a defensive game. His offense has been non-existent.
Shore hasn't been able to do much until last night. That was the best he played since shortly after we acquired him.
Arnold is NHL ready today. He will be the first recall if a prospect forward is desired. Does everything well. Very composed two way player. Potential Stajan replacement in the future.
Poirier has been lost offensively. I think he's trying to learn a different way of generating offense because he hasn't been in the usual spots that he was last year. He has been stealing Cammalleri's off to the side a bit and wait for a one knee one timer. The goal he scored a couple days ago was one of those. It is sort of like how Hamilton has struggled with the defensive details in the beginning of the year, but at the other end of the ice. He is coming around and playing significantly better of late.
Also, I think Tyler Wotherspoon will never become an NHL regular. He has not improved much if at all in the last two seasons. He is okay, but there are always better options. In my opinion, all of Nakladal, Kulak, and Kylington have been better than him this season. When this was a make or break season for him, you would expect more.

On the latest Texas road trip Shore was phenomenal and the best player on the ice, especially against San Antonio

That was the one game this season that I haven't watched.
I didn't think he was outstanding against Texas. More like he was last year, but not great in my opinion.
