I'm confused why Arizona would even consider moving Oliver Ekman Larsson.

Ya thanks but no thanks to that. Maybe a B/C grade prospect and 4th/5th rounder. No chance is he worth more than any of the other forwards that have been chucked around in the past few days.

What's Penner up to? We may as well just pick him up if he's in decent condition. He may actually work out better than Stewart. I don't understand why Penner was never signed. Sure his conditioning is terrible, but he has decent numbers, plays well in the playoffs, and has two rings. He played quite well with the Ducks last year. If he can play, just pick him up from the trash heap free of charge (if we can).

On that last RT, like Petry in EDM, Havlat sitting out tonight is asset protection.

From my understanding from his time with the sharks, havlat is permanently injured (hips?) and/or can't stomach playing through pain. Sharks Mngt were fed up with him. Can't imagine he has much value

Chris Kuc @ChrisKuc
Patrick Sharp's agent, Rick Curran, spoke with GM Stan Bowman on Thursday and was assured #Blackhawks have "no intention" of trading Sharp.

I didn't realize he was having such a decent/good season.

18 goals, 15 assists in 57 games.

It's the cap hit the Contenders needed to work around. Actualy now that I think about it, he'd be someone Bowman would see as a killer fit in CHI.

Ha. Typical hockey talking head denial. Used to drive price up more.

Red Wings may be in the market for another top 6 forward as Darren Helm has left the 1st period of todays game and already its been announced he will not return. The red Wings broadcasting crew has the guys in the truck reviewing the first 10 minutes of the period trying to figure out what happened...nothing yet.

Even better considering he probably only had a handful of those pts in the first 20 or so games. Really turned it up after that.

Maybe to Chicago to replace Kane?

Edit: missed dammage's post above..

Ugh. Another player for a team to consider over Glencross if they feel the price is to high.

There's only X amount of FWDs in direct competition with Glencross and more teams looking for help than there are players. It is a sellers market apparently so it's not like the last FWD available will be sold for scraps and pucks.

There are also only X amount of teams that Glencross will waive to go. I think Washington and Chicago are the best fits. Rangers would be good also but not sure he would waive for NY.

It's been reported also along with the rumored list of teams that he would also help the team out further by expanding said list if needed. So we'll see.

True. But from the reports he has expanded his list twice. I would love for him to expand to NY Islanders. They can offer him a shot on the top 6. I'm not sure Rangers can offer him top 6 playing time. I'm guessing he wants the chance at top 6 playing time considering he is not happy with his role in Calgary.

Right now I'd be quite happy with a rumour that he has expanded his list again. Not much going in the way of rumours for the flames. Keeping things close to the vest I guess.

I'm there with you but also have not looked at the cap implications in the off season for some of these moves and who will be even more desperate come the summer.

i'm willing to let it go for a while yet.

I think Treliving's in a bit of a tough spot this deadline.

On one hand, we're unexpectedly right in the hunt for the playoffs and could use an extra impact player or two to help give us that final push.

On the other hand, despite our success this year we're still in the early stages of a rebuild. Who knows if we're actually the real deal or if we're going to fall back down to earth next season.

So were not exactly in the market for a straight up rental player in exchange for future assets in the form of picks and prospects. Nor are we looking to sell our current assets that might otherwise help us get into the playoffs this year, for future picks and prospects. Really have to factor in the future along with the present this deadline day, and it's kind of a fine line.

Kind of restricts his ability to make certain deals IMO. I'm glad he appears to be being cautious though.
