Yonkman is very conscious of his role as the Adirondack Flames’ captain. He’s both the vocal type and the lead-by-example type. So when a player acts in frustration, as Culkin did, slamming his stick against the glass, Yonkman reads the situation and reacts accordingly. Sometimes, that means saying something, sometimes it means leaving the player to sort things out himself.

With Mason Raymond almost ready I'd expect Baertschi to join Adirondack pretty quick here. With Calgary being in Toronto on the 9th and Adirondack being in Hamilton on the 10th it lines up pretty good eh? Sven hitches a ride to Ontario and joins the farm team in Hamilton.

I can't see how the demote Vause. I'd prefer to see them release Gillies and keep Vause if it comes down to that. With Ferland, Tousignant and Wolf, we don't need a designated face puncher.

Who though, Reid or Gillies? Or do they not have contacts that allow assignment?

Reid and Vause are both on PTO's so all that would be done is end the tryout and the contract with the Flames is terminated and they would go back to their ECHL team or on to their next AHL tryout.

I forgot, Tyler Spurgeon is also on a PTO. He was injured and out for a couple games and a healthy scratch the last game.

Chances are we will see Spurgeon and Reid released as we are up to 18 forwards, 16 of them healthy and eligible.

The AHL website is showing that Tyler Spurgeon has been released from his PTO.

That gives us 17 forwards now.
