Had a couple pairs when in elementary school in the 80's...a lot of kids did, even though the pocket was usually only big enough to hold a couple quarters, or maybe a house key depending on which style you had.

Didn't have a PC, but friends did....Lesuire Suit Larry was a hot game for it at the time:

Good old Leisure Suit Larry. Early toilet humour. Spent a lot of time decoding those puzzles; I kept a notebook and everything.

I will take an 80's 90's dump in this thread, although I haven't read the entire thing so likely a bunch already mentioned.

-Stores/Places I miss : The Attic and the Head Shops on 8th Avenue, Snowboard Shop on 10th Street with the half pipe on the side, Free Wheelin across from the dome, Consumers Distributing, Regal, Chestermere Waterslides, Waterslides off of Macleod and Heritage, Chi Chis restaurant, Alberta Wheat Pool.

-Entertainment : TSR80, Colecovision, Atari, Commodore 64 (Summer Olympics & Artillery!), Nintendo with Mario and Duckhunt, Fishing Derbies, Gopher Hunting with 22's as 12 year olds, XL, AM 106 and the top 6 at 6, Life Goes On, The Wonder Years, Erica Ehm when she burst onto Much Music around the time when Samantha Fox "Touch Me" was on heavy rotation, Music videos were must see at the time, Handheld Pacman game, Rockem Sockem 1, Stampede Wrestling on Saturday after Saturday morning cartoons, Tony Hawk, Vision Street Ghost, Chris Miller, GT Dyno Comp, Expo 86, Nicky Nicky Nine door, Electric Avenue and easy access to fake ID, Calgary Cannons : Saw A-Rod, Omar, Tanny Tartabull to name a few but missed seeing Griffey Jr., The Playoff run of 1986 when we had a "real" snowstorm with 28cms of snow and 80km per hour winds on May 13/14 and everything was shut down for two days, 89 on Electric Avenue, Blue Jays wins on Electric Avenue, $20 to go watch Eddie the Eagle fly at COP, went to 6 or 7 events at Olympics all $20 per event or a couple $15, Pin Collecting at Calgary 88, Calgary 88s playoff game in 1990 was $5, Flames games during this era were also only $7.50 for row 40, Tupperware parties for the Moms, Moms making kids ceramic figurines, Many kids smoking by grade 6, most people drinking and driving, concerts at Calaway Park : saw Gowan there, Rad Movie, Video Hits, Good Rockin Tonite, Hockey Card games at school : closest to the wall etc, Prank calls were epic in the days before caller ID and you were truly anonymous back then, 8675309, Coral drive in dusk till dawn movie nights, Rollerland in Forest Lawn, Standing in line at the Bay for concert or sporting event tickets, Frog catching, Golf Ball hunting at night and then selling the golf balls back to the course, hot air balloons filling the sky not just one or two a few weekends per year, Rebounders, Video stores with a corralled off area in the back for the "adult" section, Columbia House, buying tapes and later cd's at Radio Shack, neighborhood wide dirt bomb fights and crab apple fights without anyone ever losing an eye, No helmets, The Infirmary at school, The Strap, After school fights just man on man in a nearby field with half the school watching, putting on baby oil and laying on roof tops to sun tan, loading up the family station wagon with the kids facing the opposite direction from the adults and driving to Bed Rock City in Kelowna much of the while tossing cherry stones out the side windows trying to hit cars trailing behind us. Any border crossing out or into Alberta was met with everyone either clicking their seat belts or unclicking them depending on what direction you were going.

Clothes/other : Beaver Canoe, Cotton Ginny, Acid Washed, Jean Jackets with Sex Pistols patches on them, Doc Martens, Ocean Pacific, Vision Street Wear, original fluorescent, zipper pants for girls, leg warmers, parachute pants, Body Glove, Tab, Sanka, Orange Crush in a bottle from a pop machine for a quarter or two, Cruise Missile Tests over Alberta / Cold Lake.

Flames related : The trumpet guy at Flames games, Salt Lake City Golden Eagles went to a summer camp in Murray Utah put on by Theo Fleury the year he was a rookie on the Flames, Doug Barkley, call in shows with Jock Wilson, Mitch Peacock, Lanny Macdonald Coins, babysitter that used to date Phil Russell and possibly later Kevin Lavalee, sister partying with Mike Vernon at Three Cheers, seeing Theo Fleury, Iginla, Sandy Macarthy at the Fox and Firkin, The Al Macinnis bar brawl, The players would be out with the general public after just about every home game, Flames playoff songs "come back to me Calgary (Barney Bental) , or Flames Go All the way (Sly Fox), The songs the Flames themselves would put out, seeing the players at many golf courses and Terry Crisp, Bear Cat Murray sprinting down the ice in golf cleats and having fan clubs around the league, The 1989 team and Stanley Cup win is enough to keep me a Flames fan forever.

Through it all : Peter Maher!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Yeah Baby!!!!!!!!!!!
