Yeah and endure countless seasons of losing with no hopes of ever winning the Cup.

I don't think anyone is arguing... Moon is just trolling us from the netherworld of his Lifetime Ban.
I don't think there is any news on Kevin Hayes specifically, but the Blackhawks have to do something serious fairly soon. They have a couple of months to get their salary structure in compliance with the cap. The rights to Hayes would be a decent sweetener in any deal to clear cap space, as to them he is worth at least a 2nd round pick (compensation for not signing).
If they are in cap Hell come October it could get interesting with their 'bubble' players like Jeremy Morin and Ben Smith, who are now eligible for waivers. I hope Treliving is keeping the lines of communication open with Chicago. We're one of the few teams in a great position to profit from their situation.

odd question I've never bothered exploring, but is the the compensation pick transferable? if a team trades for Hayes and does not sign him do they get the pick?

Can someone fill me in on this guy? Don't really follow College hockey or wherever he's from.

And on top of being the linemate of two of our prospects he is also a big natural RW (which is one of our biggest needs).
I really hope our lack of depth at RW helps sway him to come to Calgary instead of joining his brother in Florida.
