So Backlund started holding on the to puck more, and taking his time making plays a couple seasons ago and that sparked his confidence and turned his career around. Is there some sort of explanation to why Swedes are often late bloomers?

Quick, trade Backlund so we can move 3 spots up in the draft.

Backlund always seems to be a bit of a gamer, steps it up when needed. Hopefully he's a guy that's held onto as the Flames turn it around. 2nd line, 3rd line, whatever.. important piece.

That would be such an epic line.... if all 3 weren't centres

Monahan's a beast in the faceoff circle so far in the Worlds so I'd keep him at center, and MacKinnon's a right shot so stick him on the RW - which leaves Huberdeau at LW.

Huberdeau plays LW now and MacKinnon plays RW all the time.

Good. I want the Oilers to take him. Nothing against Draisaitl ( would be proud if he ends up a flame) but I want Bennett. I know everybody talks about size down the middle, but Flames need a center prospect with elite speed.

4 faceoffs is a pretty small sample size. I wouldn't call him a 'beast' quite yet.

Monahan will be a pretty big boy in a couple of years so Draisaitl's size isn't quite as necessary for the Flames. Not that I'd have any problem if we drafted him, though.

He won't have to drop for the Flames to take him. I hope the Oilers take him. would rather any of the Bennett, Reinhart oe Ekblad over him.

Backlund was Sweden's player of the game. 3-0 was the final.

Gaudreau with some nifty stick work on a delayed penalty call.

He had 4 swiss players just mesmerized.

Delayed penalty and Gaudreau turns a defender inside out and gets a great shot off. Amazing stick handling.
