One of my most memorable shows was Norm Macdonald show...it started off badly and proceeded to get worse...he was so drunk he could barely stand and most of the show ended up being him and hecklers.
But I wont forget it.
Was that at the Palace? Or maybe when it was Flames Central? That's the only less than amazing Norm show I've seen. The crowd was pretty ####ty.
Yeah, Norm is the true goat. The joke was always king to him. You could tell it means a lot to him when certain comedic figures pointed to him as the funniest comedian on earth.
The last time Norm RIP was here I saw him at that place on Blackfoot.
Looking back he looked sick.
But #### he was great, dry deadpan presentation, long meandering jokes/stories.
You had to pay attention to the set because sometimes the punchline dropped 5 minutes after the joke ended.
A genius at work.
Strange as it is, the last time I saw Norm at the Laugh Shop there were also a few drunk hecklers that would just not shut the f### up. One in particular really felt he was part of the show the whole night, interrupting him and stepping all over the punch lines.
Norm was so patient at first, then he started to try and ignore it, then he finally just said "Man, you really need to just shut the #### up".
I have no earthly idea how or why he wasn't kicked out.

Need to normalize everyone throwing pint glasses of beer at hecklers head.
Like if people screamed at the screen of a movie. "This is ridiculous and offensive!"
Heckling Chapelle is similar to people who were slamming Calatrava. They are going to be legends for the rest of time and do not need some losers in Alberta to validate them.
It's not your show, it's his show and you are just here to see it and STFU.

You and I were at the same show.
The shame of it was he never even finished the joke he was doing when he finally lost it.
Clubs need to kick those morons out faster.

Several years ago the wife and I saw two comedy shows in back to back weeks. Bill Burr where the crowd was pretty drunk but behaved. He even talked about it in his podcast.
The second show was Danny Bhoy where the crowd full of boomers wouldn't STFU. They kept yelling his famous bits to him but he couldn't hear what they were saying. Kept bringing the show to a grinding halt and throwing him off. Shut the hell up people, if you want to see his old material just watch it at home.
So if you are unsure how to be an audience member at a comedy show. You don't talk to the comedians, you listen and laugh at their jokes, nothing more. Unless they are specifically talking to you, you don't talk at them. It's very simple.

I don't know how I stumbled upon this person, but goddam, I thought to myself "that's a brilliant joke" at least 3-4 times while watching this, and that's hard to do with me. Enjoy.
