as for eb, there is no penalty canceling a preorder. The deposit is to secure a copy but is fully refundable.
It's pretty much how I have gotten all my recent purchases, they have done it for every game. NCAA 13, Mario for 3ds, Kingdom hearts 3ds, transformers. It's a safe bet that they will have one for Fifa.
Well if NHL isn't on the list on Tuesday, I'll buy whatever game is cheapest on the list, open it and then trade it in with Tiger.

Fs doesn't let you trade in for preorders, only when it's released (Tuesday)
I can confirm this although after explaining how the website doesn't state this in any way I was able to get them to work some magic and hold my copy for Tuesday. They couldn't get a proper pre-order in the system and gave me a gift card for the amount and held it.
I don't reccomend this, just go Tuesday early.
Edit: Also I just cancelled and transferred my game payment to my black ops 2 pre-order over the phone, that easy.
Do you really need to go early on Tuesday though? Aren't they going to have a ton of copies?

Anyone know what the cheapest game on the FS list is?
I want to trade in Battlefield 3, but I don't have anything else to trade in (that I want to anyway). I'm thinking at the most I pay $30 for a game and then trade that in with Battlefield 3. Then get NHL 13 Stanley Cup for free at $80 value.
So, are there any suggestsions by the lucky few with games on how to tone up realism further? So far, I've got (from the demo):
- Decrease goalie vision. They still seem to magically track pucks through traffic
- Decrease player speed and importance of the first 3 steps. A player with high agility and acceleration seems to dance through 4 defenders on the PK no problem.
- Decrease checking. Bumping a player seems to knock them off the puck, even Kopitar.
Gotta say, the player faces look very good (for those which EA have actually done). Hall looks hilarious.
They even have Baertschi's face (though, they also had it in 12). Unfortunately, only a select few Flames have it done. Giordano still looks like a serial killer, Backlund looks like Darcy Hordichuk, etc. Still though, it's better than it's ever been. The players even move their eyes now.
I'm having a lot of trouble adjusting to the new style of gameplay. I just can't seem to hold onto the puck; one little bump sends me flying and the puck goes loose. Gameplay feels a little slow, I think they need to up the speed a bit online. I went 0 for 5 on the PK during my first online game.
How come Gaudreau, Arnold, Gillies and Jankowski aren't on the prospect list?
NCAA and USHL aren't in the game.
I don't know if there's anyway to obtain those players in Be a GM mode, but in NHL 12, I had create and add Gaudreau to the Flames roster myself in creation/roster mode before I started my GM mode.

I pretty much edit all the prospects before I start my GM mode (at least, I did in NHL 12).
In NHL 12, I couldn't seem to get unedited players like Reinhart, Ferland, etc., even players like Baertschi, to develop to what I'd consider their full potential. I'll admit, it bothers me when the guy in that video was mocking our limited prospect pool.
I would bring Sven up to around an 80 (which was pretty mediocre still in NHL 12) and adjust his potential so that he could be more than a 4th line player. I did this with Brodie, Reinhart, Ferland, Brossoit, Irving... anyone who I'd consider among our top prospects. This way, I could eventually use them, instead of having them rot on the Heat.
I don't know if I was playing the wrong way, but even when I picked 1st overall, I couldn't get that player to be a good NHLer.
I don't know how much it's changed in this game, or again, if I've been doing it wrong all the time... but thee way the guy has described in the video, by tanking with your top prospects playing first line minutes... that doesn't seem authentic to me.
...
Can anyone tell me how developing prospects in the NHL compares to leaving them in the AHL?
Strange that they don't add them to the game. Might as well considering that quite a few of the teams best prospects play in those leagues.
That will never happen. Players from the NCAA can't have their name out there. It's just like why NCAA 13 football has a bunch of random # players and not actual players.
Something about profiting off the players or something so they don't allow anyone to use their names.
