Crazy stats... So far in the playoffs, Brossoit's GAA is 1.45; and Baertschi's PPG is 1.85.

I honestly see 600 shutouts and 1300 wins for this kid ...
... on a serious note: I'm glad the Flames have at least one area where they don't have to worry at the moment. Irving is ready to make the jump to the NHL, Ortio looks promising in Finland, Ramo is a beast in the KHL and Brossoit is among the best goaltenders in junior hockey. That's a great situation going forward ... in 2013-14, we could have Irving/Ramo in Calgary and Ortio/Brossoit in Abbotsford. Solid.

Well said, i'm very comfortable with the flames drafting skaters exclusively for the next couple years.

No more Oilers logo at centre ice in Rexall: http://whl.ca/video/index/id/1335372779
Remember, both series resume tonight:
Game 4 of the Brossoit - Warriors series is at 7:00 on Shaw (301/10).
Game 3 of the Winterhawks - Americans series is at 8:00 (no tv, but you can listen to the radio feed live online, or buy the webcast on the WHL website).

I wouldn't get complacent about the goaltending depth; drafting a goalie every two years after the third round seems like a good way to keep a solid flow of developmental goaltending projects through the pipeline.
I'm all for never drafting a goalie in the top 60 ever, though... Just horrific value.

Not a good game for Brossoit tonight. Already 4-0 for Moose Jaw not yet halfway through the second.
Tri-City with an early PP goal in the West.
EDIT: Edmonton scores just after I posted. 4-1 now.

Rattie sounded like a tank on one shift. "went through 4 guys and got a shot away".

HAWKS WIN!!! 3-1 Final to take the 3-0 series lead. Game 4 is tomorrow night at 8MT.
It was another strong night for Sven, but no points. Sven got pulled down on a play that everyone but the ref thought was in (on review, it never crossed the line). Rattie scored the GWG on the ensuing PP. Empty netter made it 3-1.
Moose Jaw won their game 5-1 (the fifth goal was an EN), to force Game 5 at Rexall on Friday.

Eh, when you win 19 in a row or whatever number it was, it stands to reason you won't lose the first one 1-0.
Back on the horse, LB.

Call me crazy, but I'd prefer if we saw one of the Ortio and Brossoit go to the ECHL or in Ortio's case, stay in Europe in a strong league. Goaltending is a long road in development and I'm a huge fan of having an experienced goalie mentor a younger one...give them tips and mental backing that if they have a rough night, someone is in to save them (My feelings on backup is that you either want a young backup you're grooming to take over or an experienced backup who can win you games should your starter struggle). I've felt Taylor has given Irving an excellent feeling of confidence. Two young and largely unproven goaltenders (I'm calling this year a scratch for Ortio in the AHL) might be trouble.

I once thought the same with Krahn/Medvedev/Szuper... then with Keetley/Lelande/McElhinney... I vow never to count on goaltenders.
No offense to Brossoit ... just call me forever skeptical when it comes to G's. Though I think Irving has promise.

Game 4 of the Portland/Tri-City series is on right now. It's 1-0 for Tri-City heading into the 3rd period.
Looks like Portland is lighting Rimmer up right now. 40 shots in the first two periods and no goals.
