Love the demo, love the tweaks that should have been put in/kept a long time ago like helmets getting knocked off, players getting hit into bench's, glass breaking etc.

The hits are finally getting to the point that it seems real, if you just tag part of a guy your guy falls into the boards as does the guy your hitting, big guys are harder to knock down, small guys go flying if they hit big guys, guys go down to one knee if they have enough strength or if its just a glancing blow. All these things in regards to the physics of the game are pleasing to finally see. The puck seems to be more active as well and the overall ability to interact with more things on the ice surface than ever e.g. the goalie, the net, the bench's, it all just lends to a much better playing experience. The ability to interact with the goalies and to spin off and create room in front of the net is unreal and just makes for more engaging play for the player. Overall I think the advancements being showcased this year make it worth buying, I felt kinda burned when I bought NHL 11 and the demo didn't really sell me but I think its going to be the complete opposite this year.

Extremely excited to play NHL 12, I think the full version will obviously be a lot better than this teaser as well although this has been the first NHL demo I have actually enjoyed.

Actually I was quite impressed with the demo, its not perfect but it feels vastly different from NHL 11.

To be honest I stopped playing back in May usually I'll be playing up until the release date of the next game. All in all its going to be an exciting fall for gaming IMO, NHL coupled with Skyrim should keep me busy until March when ME3 comes out.

Is anyone interested in starting up a Calgarypuck EAHL team for Xbox?

i agree with this 100%. i was not planning on buying nhl12 until it went on sale around u.s. thanksgiving time. but playing this demo has me swaying towards release day. i was so frustrated with the gameplay in nhl11 and even thought nhl10 could have been better. there seem to be tons of ways they tweaked the AI to get them to play smarter and more authentic hockey.

i quit playing online in october and have only played a few games since december, but this could get me back into the series that i miss so much. might be time for a fatas reunion!

Shooting feels very different. Going to take a while to get used to.

Not only that but the skating seems different, more momentum based like 2k10.

Count me as excited for the release of this.

I just like how now, the snap shot looks like the fake shot. They kick their leg when they fake the shot, now they kick their leg when they shoot. It's a little thing, but it makes a huge difference for me

I absolutely love how they worked the rebounds.. you can actually get 2nd and 3rd chances that feel good to go for finally.

I had a few awesome games tonight, everything feels revamped and much more fluids.

All I hope for is an updated Saddledome, the jumbotron is 6-7 years outdated now. Also I'm working on a NHL 12 soundtrack once I get all the intro time down - should be out one or two weeks after release.

I hipchecked Burrows into the bench with Chara! Several games later, Chara broke the glass with Henrik's face! :-D

I like the improved skating and puck physics. I do think it's a bit strange when players stickhandle- it looks odd.

None the less, I am excited!

In NHL 11, one of the things I used to do to get the goalie down into butterfly position was to fake a slap shot. Now, in NHL 12, if you do that he'll fumble the puck a bit. More realistic, love the small details they added this year.

This. I remember dump and chase being useless because D could spin around without losing momentum.

I'd like to play on the Fatas again next season, this means I can actually respond to EASHL requests I get all the time!

Played the demo finally. I like it a definite improvement from last years game. I have scored twice now after being tripped on the breakaway and going down on my knees, this is the first 2 times i have ever scored like that.

can't wait for the full version. I have been playing nhl 11 the whole time.

I've noticed from the demo that dump and chase is now a totally viable strategy for offense.

It sort of worked last year if you figured it out, but now it seems like they've finally worked that aspect of the game out.
