No doubt that was on purpose. He hat hit the play button, and had it cued to the right spot so when the batteries went in it started playing. The smile at the end sealed the intentional act.
Not sure the end game on that though.

Finally watched Monday's episode, and it didn't disappoint. I'm really starting to dislike Chuck. Dude is such a vindictive bastard.

Don't get me wrong I really like the show - but for me it's all about Mike Ehrmantraut

I liked that episode. I like Mike, but I feel like most of the Mike storyline is him following somebody or surveilling from his car. I think the most compelling scenes are with Jimmy right now.
The drop-off / pick-up scene reminded of the BB episode when Mike takes Jesse out on that run.

I loved that episode. It really hit hard at the end when Jimmy realized that Chuck duped him into incriminating himself. Great to see Gus back.

Oh man Mike is so awesome and crafty. At the start of the episode the person I was watching with said "well that was just a strange scene", and all I could think was there's gotta be an interesting point to it.
And as per usual the cinematography in that episode was incredible. The silhouette shot of Jimmy and Kim talking in front of the glass wall was pretty cool. Actually, the lighting in that whole scene was top notch.
So they're at season 3, sticking with the Jimmy McGill story, but I wonder if this case is what ruins Jimmy's name and he flips to Saul? Is the series ready to take that step now? I'm thoroughly enjoying the story as is so far, but you have to think that Gilligan and Co. will keep pace with what made BB so good and end by season 5 or 6.

So, Mike shot the shoe and the drugs rained down on the roof of the truck - that was what the dog smelled at the border?
I thought Chuck's long game was to get Jimmy disbarred.
Odenkirk does such a good job, that we actually have more sympathy for Jimmy than Chuck. I think Jimmy is doing objectively worse things.
Kim has accepted who Jimmy is, for better or worse.
Last week - I loved Howard climbing fences to sneak into Chuck's yard.

Yep. A shoe filled with that 'small package' Mike picked up that doctor's.

If Jimmy pleads the way Chuck wanted (and suggested to the courts) then he would admit a felony, which as Kim mentioned is grounds for disbarment. Instead, Jimmy and Kim are going to fight it.

The real kicker is that Jimmy lied to Kim about altering the Mesa Verde documents after the whole tape incident. Chuck is vindictive and conniving, but Jimmy is a criminal.

This cinematography in this show is outstanding. Literally every shot serves a purpose, and a lot of it looks like you're watching art. Just an awesome show.

I don't think so, and someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but in the scene where Kim finds out about the confession and she's talking with Jimmy he says that he made the confession for Chuck's sake. Essentially, he told Kim that he lied to Chuck about altering the document because he (Jimmy) was so shocked at how badly Chuck was taking the screw up (space blankets on the walls).

I'm sure she has her suspicions. It was pretty Jimmy thing to do.

But when Chuck accused him in front of Kim and kim took his defence then in the car started punching him and was upset.. I took that as her acting in front of Chuck but actually knew it was true.
Maybe I am wrong though.

I think, like Cecil says and you mention, Kim certainly has her suspicions. However, with the recent conversation I tend to think she more believes him than doesn't at this point.

There's a really good Saul blog at:
http://www.theandrewblog.net/2016/04...ick/#more-2732
The guy does a great job breaking down the episodes and talking about the motivations and psychology of the characters.
There's another one with these two Saul nerds that do more analysis about the scene set ups, camera angles, lighting, props and all the symbolism, foreshadowing and other devices employed in the show. They do a great job too, just can't find it right now. I'll post it when I find it again.
