Leylah has no memory, muffed an overhead smash on game point, no biggie, I'll just win the next two points and hold serve.

the Leylah dropshot...Djokovic has been trying for 15 years to have that kind of touch.
tightly contested 1st, but Rogers legs are going to go away before too long having to play so many extra shots. all part of the process.

I just love how she camps on the baseline and takes time away from her opponents combined with plenty of zip on the ball.

Wins like that are great. Removes some of the toll later, hopefully

The match might be over before Rogers has a chance to lose her legs given how aggressively she's going for her shots... not that she's playing badly but if she produces that UE rate it's not going to go well for her. Leylah is playing very well. It's just a huge difference when she gets her serve working reasonably well and doesn't give away free points on it. That being said, the first set was actually a bit closer than 6-2, considering Rogers had break points in two separate games.
EDIT: Giving Rogers an opening in this game, though. Seems like a bit of a mental let-up which isn't typical of what we've seen from her.

Rogers has elevated her game, which is just to say that more of her shots are going in. Nothing you can do about that, really, if you're Leylah, other than ride it out and try to keep the serve together... that double fault isn't helping.

Would be very good to see Leylah hold here and build some momentum at least.
EDIT: I have no idea why Leylah is going for huge winners.

... and inhale again and hold it.
EDIT: And exhale again.
Watching Leylah is really good for your lung capacity.
Finally over 2 hours... honestly I think the speed of the first two sets helped Rogers, she doesn't seem too tired. Maybe starting to slow.

Shelby is going to be tough to break if she keeps serving bombs.

She's not only serving well she's serving clutch. She's had a few miscues to set up Leylah for opportunities, but when the opportunities actually happen (i.e. break points) she gets it together and doesn't miss.

It's nail-bitingly close. AKA where she lives, so yeah, sure.
... In reality it could go either way. Rogers is the best version of herself since set 1 and that version of herself beat Barty at the US Open.
EDIT: God do I want a drop shot on this point. EDITEDIT: Nope... more clutch serving from Rogers.

As CHL said above, two clutch serves right there by Shelby.
Edit: And there's another one.
