I disagree the IW is GG vol2.5

If the snap doesn't happen than infinity war is basically Thor 3.5

Movie opens on Thor
Earths Heroes are activated becuase Heimdall sends Hulk to warn them.
Guardians are Activated because they find Thors wreckage
Guardians and Earths Away Party meet up because Thor set them both in motion.
Thor goes and gets the Thanos killing weapon
Thor successfully axes Thanos in the chest.

Really as much press and Iron-man gets, I think it's really easy to argue the the Avengers have been Thors series to date. Loki and Selvig being the big plot movers of Avengers 1.

Thor being the one to "give birth" to The Vision in Ultron. which seems to have been the primary purpose of that movie.

The Loki / Kane relationship seeming to be the thing primarily driving towards Avengers 5.

I just don't have a great argument for EndGame, which really was all about Cap and Ironman.

I enjoyed GOTG 3. Has a few issues including being too long but is ultimately a fun space adventure that provides rewarding character arcs and a satisfying conclusion.

I actually found GOTG3 had a lot in common with Thor L&T and it's interesting one was praised while the other was panned. Both are meandering space adventures that include an ultimately meaningless 2nd act fetch quest involving a fun cameo. Also both dramatically shift between dark and humour and have a final scene involving saving children.

GOTG does handle these story beats much better with a plot that makes far more sense and well written character moments. Also the effects were improved.

Love and Thunder is easily the worst marvel movie and the worst superhero movie of the last 20 years, save maybe SM3.

Guardians 3 was a million times better, had proper writing, character arcs, emotion, a real villain who despite a lack of screen time wasn’t a complete joke. And despite all the humour, the movie is legit. Unlike L&T which is basically an snl parody of superhero movies and made a mockery of itself for 2 hours.

See, I dont get this. I didnt like it personally, but it was essentially 'as advertised.'

Maybe you didnt know it was going to be so cheesy or that it was going to be a relentless cheese-fest...but you sort of knew what you were getting into.

For me? The worst Marvel movie thus far has been Black Panther 2. That movie was a relentless slog. That film took actual effort to get through.

I dont think I've struggled through a superhero film like that since Aquaman.

No, I most certainly did not know it was going to be one of the worst blockbusters I’d ever seen with a script so bad it felt like it was written by an 8 year old. No one could have predicted that it would make SM3 emo scene look both well written and serious by comparison.

It was literally nothing like advertised, which was a movie about Thor and the god butcher.

Okay, I will admit that the under-use of Bale as the God Butcher was pretty criminal.

And yes..Waititi leaned into it with the comedy far too hard. I'm not saying it was a great movie.

But if I have to choose between Love and Thunder, Spiderman 3 or Black Panther 2 I'm taking Love and Thunder every day.

Yeah my kids are really easy to please and enjoy just about any movie we watch, but both of them said they didn't like Black Panther 2, I think it is the only Marvel movie they didn't like. A slog as you say, combined with too many subtitles and a plot all over the place.

My God...I lambaste Aquaman because it was a mess but Black Panther 2? That was a chore.

Eternals is the worst marvel movie of the current phase. The characters are boring and rarely used in the comics and that carried on into a too long movie.

I can find redeeming qualities in Black Panther, the changes to Atlantis were fantastic. Thor: Love and Thunder was a wacky comedy told by Korg a clearly non reliable narrator, but it made me laugh(screaming goats).

I watched Thor: Love and Thunder and Black Adam on flights, so they were both viewed in similar, top notch theatre setups. Thor was much better.

No, I don't think so. I can't recall anything that impacts the story of GotG 3.

I found Eternals bland and uninteresting, Black Panther 2 was something else...it was a strange combination of boring and...almost offensive?

That movie was something awful.

I enjoyed BP2 thought it was one of the better recent MCU films. I'd put it above Ant Man 2&3, Thor 4, Dr. Strange 2, BW

We saw Guardians of the Galaxy yesterday, and without spoilers:

I really enjoyed it--far more than I was expecting based on the recent string of duds Marvel's pulled out of their arse. Last week I tried playing catch up on MCU projects I couldn't remember, and my....god.

The flavour Gunn has brought to Marvel works well, the wonky cast of malcontents are over-the-top and engaging and believable all at once, and the comedy lands. To glue it all together there's a solid emotional renaissance that's quite effective and at times the film had me wondering if Gunn is an animal lover or super effective manipulatist (I don't think that's a word) or both. Marvel hasn't been able to duplicate Gunn's formula, and it has me *a bit* more excited for DC's future.

I think it's notable that Guardians focuses on delivering a good movie with proper send off rather than tying everything into some grand end-of-the-universe super plot nobody ####ing understands anymore.

Adam Warlock was rather disappointing on the whole.

I thought BP2 had at least potential. It seemed to die on the cutting room floor though. So much back and forth between Wakanda and Atlantis to the point I had no idea what was going on.

At it's core it was a pretty basic superhero trope. Two discriminated against people's. One chooses revenge/violence and the other peace. Basically the same plot as the X-men/Mutant Brotherhood, Superman/Zod, Batman/Joker, etc...

It had the potential to be a pretty basic superhero movie with some great visuals. Instead we ended up with a way too drawn out narrative, where nothing much happened.
