Me too.
The more I think about swapping Sanchez and Liriano starts I like it. If we can get to the playoffs with Sanchez, Estrada and Happ as our game 1 2 and 3 starters, to me it's immediately advantage Jays.

I honestly cannot believe how amazing our starting pitching has been this season. Happ, to me, is the biggest surprise and a move that Shapiro/Atkins should be lauded for.

The Jays are seriously rolling right now! It's been a lot of fun to watch. One day it's the Josh Donaldson show, the next it's the Tulo show, some days it's the pitching staffs day to shine. Either way it's been entertaining.

I was surprised to see Cubs are in the middle of the pack. Maybe the wind keeps balls in the park.

1. COL
2. AZ
3. MIL
4. TOR
5. TEX
6. BOS
17. CUBS
30. SF

Not surprised to see 4 AL East teams in the top ten.

Have they said it will be Liriano and Sanchez flipping starts? I'd prefer for them to see what they have with the Liriano/Martin combo first and if it works, give Liriano Dickey's spot in the rotation and have Dickey flip in and out with Sanchez.

Ya i haven't really sussed out the details, I just assumed it would be Liriano and Sanchez swapping every other start. Though your proposal to get Dickey out of the rotation appeals to me, despite his most recent start, and you have the Thole factor there as well.

I think the flipping starts is just speculation. As far as I know they are saying its a 6 man rotation. Doubtful that lasts a long time, I'd guess two cycles. If Liriano is not hot garbage in his 2 starts in those orbits, then Sanchez will go straight to the bullpen.

At least that how I see it.

Could Liriano be the missing power LOOGY in the bullpen come postseason?

If he doesn't kill it over the rest of the season, maybe you put him in that position

That should have been a huge inning. It's really time to pull the plug on Saunders. We can't have that hitting cleanup.

We can leave the "I told you so"'s until an off day

Yup, Saunders has been hot garbage at the plate since the all star break.

I think he's only hit two homeruns since the end of June.

See the Royals are wearing their champs gear.
Did the neck bearded kid who gave the Royals the winning run in game 6 throw out the first pitch?

Or maybe they had the ump who both allowed that Hr to count, and, changed the strike zone in the 8th and 9th inning as the Jays were ready to take the lead back (and then win game 7), throw it out.

Pretty mediocre against a terrible offence. Only his first game though.
