As for the players that he has become friends with, they’ve been the outsiders of the team. Matt Benning, Milan Lucic, Drake Caggiula, Ryan Strome, and Ty Rattie were all members of the Oilers that took him in. Not to mention Mikko Koskinen.
Curious, which players are at the top of the Oiler power pyramid these days?

And wonder if that is just a figure of speech, or if McDavid actually makes them do a human pyramid so he can show them who the boss is.

James Neal was awful in Edmonton before he got COVID, early flurry of goals notwithstanding. And he is either injury prone or the team looked to get him off the ice due to phantom foot problems.

And the fact a professional athlete got COVID in Nashville right before the season started means the athlete isn’t cautious or prudent. This is a 33 year old veteran, not some kid.

I don’t even know why I’m bothering with you, you’re wrong all the time. That post about Neal wasn’t some insider information like I was referring to. My point was I’m not throwing out inside info all the time that’s wrong. I’ve done it less then 5 times on this site in the 14 years I’ve been here, and I remember why I don’t do it more often.
You mean McDavid and Draisaitl combined for 21 primary assists off of Neal’s gear.

Oiler fans suddenly want to prorate Neals production last year.

Unreal Connor McDavid stat:

At 5-on-5, Oilers are plus-88 in scoring chances with him on the ice. Without him, they're minus-183

There’s no worse broadcast crew than the Rogers Oilers group. First they start by comparing McDavid and Draisatl to Gretzky/Kurri, Lemieux/Jagr and Crosby/Malkin. Gimme a break. All those guys won cups and were dragging their teams toward playoff victories. This iteration of a duo (that allegedly “could be the best ever!”) can barely make the playoffs in the first place.

Anyway, you go from that stupidity and exaggeration to this play by play guy who thinks it’s calling a WWE fight. It’s just unbearable.

Its a damn travesty that organization, that fan base, that city, got rewarded with McDavid. After 3 first overalls the previous 4 years. Makes me hate the NHL even more than I already do.

That shot of McDavid’s face on lottery ball day will live in infamy.

I'm bitter about it.

Oiler fans may say we're salty or whatever, but it's garbage they got ####ing FOUR first overall picks to go along with their 8th (2019), 10th (2018), 4th (2016), 3rd (2014), 7th (2013) and you can throw in a 10th again in 2009.

Yup, but it unfortunately is only an * on any success they have. If they win a cup as a result of the embarrassment of riches handed to them by the league, the fans won't care that it was handed to them on a silver platter, they will feel the team earned it as much as anyone else.

It's bull but in sports people care about the outcome.

They won't win a cup. If McDavid ever wins a cup it won't be in Edmonton.

My guess is he'll finally ask for a trade after the Oil get smoked in this year's playoffs.

I still can't fathom why he signed the max deal. He had all the leverage in the world. Part of me wants him to stay and rot in Edmonton for being a dumbass.

Of course the rational part of me wants him out ASAP.

What I think happens in reality is that he just plays till the end of his contract, then walks to the Leafs just in time to replace Tavaras as Captain.

It took all of two sentences of this little intro for me to hit the mute button. Just super embarrassing stuff from the Sportsnet Oilers fan club.
