"It had Russel Crowe's Maximus meddling with Roman gods in the afterlife, being reincarnated, defending early Christians, ultimately living forever, leading tanks in the second world war and even mucking around in the modern-day Pentagon..."
Hemsworth was rumoured to be attached to this at some point as well, but now with his acting break I am not sure if he would still be involved.
He would fill the role great, if they were going for the same sort of movie but maybe set in a different time period? Or is this meant to be a direct sequel?

That would actually be a really good casting decision.

Oddly enough I've seen that the show was called 'Beasties' in Canada due to trademark issues but every memory I have it is being called 'Beast Wars' -- very strange.
Not a trade mark. You can't (couldn't) use words that imply violence in titles of Canadian cartoons. Beast Wars became Beasties. War Planets became Shadow Raiders etc etc.
Funnily, in the US you weren't allowed to use certain types of weapons in shows so Rhinox's gatling guns got edited out of a lot of Beast Wars episodes in the 90s.
Yep that was the weird thing. You could put it on Canadian TV, just not a Canadian channel. So if you were on Q13 Fox, it was Beast Wars. If you were on YTV it was Beasties.
Man watching that intro I vaguely remember the show, but I also remember not really liking it. It was erased from my memory completely until I watched the intro again. Which is weird because I was big into Beast Wars and Reboot which both look like from the same production company.

I had aged out of cartoons by the time this came out and had no interest. I do remember seeing bits of pieces of this and thinking it was a reboot continuation, as some of the character designs were so similar.
Reboot was my favourite show and I was right into Beast Wars as well… I am completely baffled by the video above. I have no idea what this is and I can’t believe I don’t.

I haven’t watched it since I was like 10. But I bet it’s still awesome judging just from the intro.
I do remember it being sort of the black sheep to Reboot and Beast Wars. Not a lot of my friends watched it. Me and my brothers loved it tho. Very StarCraft.

Watched Top Hat, a 1935 musical, which no one told them was during a depression because the movie is so opulent. I really enjoyed it, and was surprisingly very funny. Basically a man and women fall in love, but due to a misunderstanding the woman thinks the man is married and hilarity ensues. Stars Ginger Rodgers and Fred Astaire and if you love the Green Mile (and who doesn't) you will instantly recognize the part where Astaire sings dancing cheek to cheek.
Did Captain America show up? The Rocketeer? Chewbacca?
Get your musicals out of the Sci-Fi, Comic Book Movie Thread unless you want to discuss Dr. Horrible's Sing-along or Little Shop of Horrors.
