In terms of the younger Flames Lucic seems to have great relationships with Dube and Mangiapane. I think he is one of the more popular Flames.

Thanks. Like I said I have no insight into the Flames room, pure guessing on that part. He was my favorite non Oiler player and will always owe him for stopping the Nucks from getting a cup.
However I’m Pretty confident in the Lucic needed to go part.

No doubt. I’m sure you are.
Why not add Lucic to the list of guys who “had to go.”
Sekera, Talbot, Eberle, Hall, Gagner, Horcoff, Dubnyk, Souray, Penner, Stoll, Cogliano, and so on and so on.
I’m sure he wasn’t a whipping boy scape goat and totally was the problem.
I mean it’s not like there were verified issues with team culture before he arrived, made by a former cup winning teammate of his.
I’m sure he definitely needed to go, I can see how he wasn’t jiving with the elite privilege of being an Oiler.

Oilers fans and the Edmonton media (kinda the same thing) were all over Lucic. They wouldn't let up or give him a chance to evolve into a different role. It must have been awful for him to be dogpiled on every day he went to work.
Of course Lucic needed to go, but it was because of the Edmonton scapegoating mentality that had targeted him.

Great, this thread went from bad unsubstantiated rumours about Lucic to even worse unsubstantiated rumours about another players health.
Very E=NG

From my understanding the Oilers were the only team willing to take Neal. The Flames even tried to fire him into the sun, but the sun slapped him back with a huge solar flare and said "No way bro".
I'm sure when the day comes when Connor demands a trade, Oiler fans will find a reason to say, We're glad we got him out of the locker room.

Connor will get the Gretzky treatment and get a statue in his honor, but unlike Wayne holding the Stanley Cup, his will hold the Art Ross and Hart trophy.

If Looch was a locker room problem for the Oil, I'm sure it's because of all the guys on the roster who didn't want to pull their weight being told off by him on the regular. I'm sure a guy like JP, who will never reach his potential, had problems with a guy who actually WANTS to win, like Lucic.

Come on. The reason he has looked like complete garbage since the end of 2019 is because he is an utterly useless player.

Well he scored 21 goals last year.
It’s pretty well documented and he had an interview himself that covid really kicked the crap out of him, then he got sick again and was out for 2 weeks. My point on that was why he’s only being played sparingly.
I don’t even know why I’m bothering with you, you’re wrong all the time. That post about Neal wasn’t some insider information like I was referring to. My point was I’m not throwing out inside info all the time that’s wrong. I’ve done it less then 5 times on this site in the 14 years I’ve been here, and I remember why I don’t do it more often.

Right, and the reason for Pulljujitsu’s pathetic development falls at the feet of Milan Lucic being a bully. Definitely not the Oilers tire fire.
Has anyone gone on record with your what you’re asserting about Lucic? The opposite appears true.
You know what else is well documented? James Neal’s decline the last 4 seasons.
But who knows, maybe he got Covid in 2018?

I'd argue that James Kneel's 21 goal season was pretty illusionatory (made up word but don't care) last year.
He scored 11 goals in the first month of the season, and that includes a 4 goal game, and 6 of those 11 came in two games. After that he was pretty much quiet until November and had 5 goals, 3 of which came in one game.
Out of his 19 goal regular season, 12 came on the pp. He was a horrific -20, which points out that Neal last year was not a guy that you could really want on the ice in 5v5 play and a major reason why Edmonton was so horrific at 5v5.
You're paying an awful lot for a pp specialist, who's a%% you literally have to staple to the bench 5v5.
And you can make any kind of excuse for him, Covid whatever. But frankly over the last three seasons, including the Flames season, he's just not all that good of a player, he's not a guy you can count on. And I'm glad he's burning Oiler dollars.
