Well honestly at this point he’s already made more money that anyone could dream of and with this contract he’s set to make what he’s made so far two more times over. So I really don’t think money is of any concern for Johnny and to me it would seem that it’s a non contributing factor to his decision. No matter where Johnny goes he’s gonna make insane money give or take 10 mill either way so it really comes down to fit and to me the reason this is taking so long is because the teams that are close to his family are teams that are further away from contending/winning than the Calgary Flames are if Johnny stays with them. That’s the hold up IMO, he has a better chance to win in his prime years of the contract in Calgary than he does in Philly/NJ/NYI and it’s a matter of if he values that more than having roots with a team close to home.

I mentioned it earlier this off-season, but I heard his heart is set on Philly. Reliable source, I just don’t know the age of the intel they got. I heard about it towards end of the reg season.

PLD is rumored to not be entertaining any kind of extension with Winnipeg I think hes RFA. And Ferraro doesn't even know what Dregar is talking about he just starts talking unprompted, its not Dreger saying those words about UFA and growing them etc.

I don't know its a current rumor from the last few days on Hfboards to that PLD has told them he is done and wants his rights traded so it fits. Could be the simplest explanation is the correct one.
