FAA is warming up....
I'll get this out of the way early. Mardy Fish has a punchable face.

Obviously, FAA's ankle is still not quite 100%. Pops has played quite a bit of tennis over the last month or so, just hope he has some gas left in the tank.

No surprise that the first set between Vasek and Opelka goes to a tie-breaker which Vasek wins 7-5. Am I correct that Vasek was up 5-zip in the tie-breaker at one point?

Denis up an early break against Fritz and appears to be locked in.
Sublime play by him so far, really using his slice to perfection to set up points and attack.

Really fighting his first serve and he gives the break right back. Still in good shape, but Denis will need to serve much better to take this set.

Canada would likely face Australia if they are to advance?

That might be enough to keep USA out of the quarters. Even if they beat Italy they’d be unlikely to grab a WC spot. (Although I guess doubles still to come).
First win ever for Canada against USA at a Davis Cup tie. 0-15 coming in.

Gotta think that Frank Dancevic goes with Felix and Brayden in the doubles match, Vasek and Shapo need a rest.
Edit: Or just keep putting Denis out there lol

In other action, Rublev defeated RBA in three sets and Rafa is currently playing Silent K looking to close out the first set as he is serving at 5-3.
