What sucks about online play in HUT, is that often things are not balanced. If I'm in a rebuilding phase with no one above 75 on my team, the game should not put me against guys who spent $$$ to get a roster that compares to Team Canada.

i havent been playing hut, but since i have a bunch of scrubs in my trade pile, i will always go in and re-activate their auctions. so i spent a minute just looking around to see how prices were. happened to notice voracek was available for a buy now price of 200 pucks! he isn't a top level player but is mid 80's rated. also, filatov was my rare in my starter pack, so i can't trade him. so i could have a pretty decent blue jackets line coming together if i decide to play again.

i know online is often more fun, but it could be useful during your rebuild times to play offline and build up pucks. against the computer you can win the rookie and easy level tournaments with low rated chl or european guys.

Zenon Konopka is my highest rated guy, and Jeff Halpern is my only other NHL'er, and I had a thrilling game against a guy with players like Mikko Koivu and Parise.
3-2 in OT for me on a tipped shot from the point.

God damn freezing after a fight is starting to drive me nuts. I thought I had a work-around by not letting it get to the stage where the screen divided in two to show both fighters, but it froze again just now well before that point. Freaking pisses me off. Not sure why I fight against the CPU anyways, it's completely pointless.

its not completely pointless if you play 10 Min Periods. Your lines get tired and you can have a quick 4th line shift with a fight that gives all your other lines energy. This is nice if all your lines were in the yellow for energy because you spam hustle alot.

i've stopped playing online altogether.
HUT is no longer played.
Only playing a season (updating the rosters myself for each team as best as possible). I'm waiting for the roster update and hopefully patch so i can start my beaGM soon.

Yeah good point, and I guess also sometimes you can get their good guys off the ice with a fight too.

Would anybody like to participate in a Xbox 360 league? We had one going for NHL 10 but I think it died after a short while. I'm thinking something along the lines of:
12-16 teams (only people who are dedicated so we don't run into issues like we did with NHL 10 where there were outstanding games left so we couldn't start the playoffs)
we can decide on details (number of games, playoffs etc.)at a later point but i just wanted to gauge and interest to see if we can get this up and running.
thanks guys.

Just curious, do you know what kind of options the game gives you for setting up a league? I might be interested in starting something like this for PS3.

Never mind lol. I just checked and apparently this mode is even worse than last year (didn't know that was possible). You are now limited to 10 teams which seems bizarre, oh but you can choose between 10 different league logos and 4 different league trophies, so I guess it has that going for it
I can't believe EA wasted so much time on that piece of junk HUT mode rather than creating a proper online dynasty mode.

The majority of my time on this series is spent in BaGM. Unfortunately, the mode was broken right out of the box, and I haven't been able to play it since release day.
In fact, I haven't played anything more than 1 or 2 'play now' games since about mid September.
Next year EA should have two competitors in NHL2K12 and Icebreaker. See if they pick up their game, so to speak.

good to know about the 10 teams. what was wrong with the league in nhl 10? i think if everyone participates it would be a fun thing to get going.

Tuners normally aren't announced until day before they go live. Patch is still an approximate couple weeks away, so there may be one more tuner before the patch goes live. (Granted approvals from Sony and Microsoft go through)

I don't read this thread, and since it's huge I wont even start sifting through it, but I have a problem..
Every time I play online vs. with NHL 11 the team selection screen just freezes and eventually the opponent leaves the match. Either that or the screen freezes on the opponents end and I have to leave.
Seems like it could be a widespread problem, WTF is it about? Never happened in NHL 10

If anybody has gone through enough years of Be a GM mode, could they help me with this:
- Would I need to alter the potential of players like Hall/Seguin/Subban to make this mode realistic? I know in NHL10, if you let them be, Tavares would quickly become a 99 overall. If so, what approximate ratings give what overall?
