It's exactly the same thing. I know it all seems easy when your TAC Mobility guy rolls up and tells you to enter in 3 digits, but it's all the same thing.
Edit: I forgot to add that there are a ton of steps your TAC guy does for you guys, that a BES/Exchange admin would normally have to do on his own in other companies. Nasty things like provisioning and service books, etc. Just because the final thing is a 3 character code when you deal with TAC, doesn't mean that's all there is to it.
Edit: Just to be clear, I'm not getting into the whole BB vs iPhone debate. I think they're both excellent phones. All I'm doing is correcting some erroneous info.

Tarmac looks interesting for adding another level of control over company deployed iOS devices: http://www.equinux.com/us/products/tarmac/overview.html

Defective USB Port on the computer that is, not the iPhone.

Alright fanboys, I have a question. The Mrs. has an iPhone, is there a way to load google talk other than just to have it open in safari?

There are some IM apps that let you chat over gtalk. I use Palringo personally (there's a free version with ads). There's no "multitasking" but it'll send you a "badge" whenever you get an IM. It's far from perfect, but it works more-or-less. It does also expire your session after a certain amount of time which I find annoying, but at least it warns you first.
I wonder if there are any IM apps that take advantage of the background services feature of iOS4 yet. Anyone know?

As they shouldn't. Not until Apple pulls their arrogant heads out of their ass and fixes it.
Still unbelievable to me that people are not returning a phone with that huge an issue.

Maybe it's not an issue for those people.

I look how I hold my phone now and this won't be a problem for me, so not overly worried for myself. They should still fix it though, just coat the darn things.

Had an idea!

Or they could re-engineer the thing and fix the actual problem instead of just employing a quick fix solution.

I'd like you to grow up. But you can't always get what you want.
