According to that it's nearing the end of it's current cycle, but it's still about 3 months away from the average refresh time.

The last refresh in October was just a minor spec bump, so in reality, the last major refresh was 426 days ago in Feb 2011. This is why everyone is holding on now waiting for the refresh. There were a lot of rumours this week that it would be announced, but no one knows for sure. In any event, everyone is saying the refresh is imminent, certainly by June.
Eagle Eye, I am waiting for a new MBP as well. The consensus is: if you really need a MBP now, go ahead and get one. They are good machines and there is nothing wrong with the late 2011 MBP. If you can wait a couple of months, then wait. The new release is coming. And you can still get 2011 MBP when the 2012's come out, so if you wanted to stick with a 2011, you could likely get it a few hundred cheaper.

Is Apple not planning to update the iPod Classic anymore? I'm going to have to treat mine really well to make it last if they don't. A 64GB iPod Touch does NOT replace a 120GB Classic by any means, especially when it costs $175 more.

Given how cheap RAM is, it would probably not be a bad upgrade. Your page in to page out ratio is fairly high, so the machine has definitely been memory constrained and swapping. The other benefit is that you'll have more RAM available to be used by OS X for disk caching, which improves system performance as well.
A machine that isn't memory constrained, and that is performing optimally, will have a page in/out ratio of around 10:1 in my experience. One that is badly RAM constrained, like my Mac Mini at home with 2GB of RAM, has a ratio of close to 1:1. You are closer to 1:1 than 10:1.
I say go for it.

Good i ordered 8gb from new egg... I am about 90% sure I'm acquiring ( meaning my wife is going to let me buy one) a 27" iMac this weekend. I prob don't need 16gb of RAM but I am pretty sure I will purchasing 16gb from new egg within the next week just to say I have 16gb of RAM

I just installed 192 GB in a server yesterday. RAM has become unbelievably cheap.

As far as I know there are no plans to update that line. I would expect production on it to stop within a few years.

I sure wish I could know when the new iMac is coming out... I want one bad right now. I am thinking about buying one this weekend and then using my 30day window to return it when/if they announce new 2012 iMacs are coming out.

So they are ditching the Ethernet port? Not sure about that.
Although I'm sure they will have a USB adapter if needed.

Yes, ditching Ethernet and ditching the optical disc drive.

I thought the lack of an ethernet port would kill me on the Air, but surprisingly I haven't really missed it.

If they're ditching the optical drive does that mean you won't be able to run an SSD with a spinning HDD for data?

Nobody knows. I'm assuming by getting rid of the OOD, they can increase the battery size, but still have enough room for a SSD and regular HHD.
I can't see too many people being happy with Apply by only offering a SSD. They are just not high enough capacity with the proper price point yet.

Silly question, but when you click on "calendars" in the top left corner of the calendar, is the calendar in question listed under "iCloud"? When I made the change to iCloud it categorized all mine as "On My Mac" instead.

Anyone have any experience inserting a HDD into the optical bay slot in a MBP unibody? Any recommended kit?

I used a kit from these guys: http://www.newmodeus.com/shop/ They make optical bay kits for a bunch of machines.
They're pretty easy to install as long as you've got exactly the right tools.

I'm leery about these kits because I don't know how the sudden motion sensor stuff plays with them - the Mac isn't expecting to have to issue a sudden park command to the second hard drive. On the flip side, I don't know what the Mac does if the hard drive decides to sudden park itself when it doesn't expect the optical drive interface to do that.
I'd ensure whatever drive I put in that caddy can park itself though - I don't think the Mac will instruct it to do so in event of an emergency.
I'm sure they work fine overall, I just worry about edge cases and data integrity.
