Oh and just thought i'd post this in case people didn't know about an uncapped year:
4. The Final Eight Plan. This is perhaps the most confusing issue of the uncapped year for fans, but the concept is pretty simple. The deeper a team went in the 2009 playoffs, the less it can do in free agency. For example, the final four teams in the playoffs -- the Saints, Colts, Vikings and Jets -- can sign an unrestricted free agent only if they lose a free agent. Don't expect these teams to be in the free-agent bidding. Those four teams have 24 free agents combined, and few of them are starters -- particularly if the Colts re-sign Brackett and the Saints re-sign Sharper. The four teams that lost in the divisional playoff round -- the Cowboys, Ravens, Cardinals and Chargers -- have a limited ability to go into free agency. They can replace a lost starter, but they can also sign one unrestricted free agent with a first-year salary of around $5.5 million. Basically, the top eight teams of 2009 have to take a wait-and-see position on free agency.

Yeah, I'll miss Nate on the team. I knew with the new FO there would be changes, and to be honest with the amount of time he was injured and his numbers he can be replaced but he was well liked. He had a radio show with Branch I would listen to it was pretty good.

Chester Taylor wants $8 million guaranteed!! Really?! Fata off then kid.
New rumblings are that Peppers is a Bear, KVB is a Lion (four-year, $26 million deal with Lions) and that Taylor is going to sign with the Bears.
Agressive start for the NFC North.

Interesting, I just read on twitter that both the Eagles and Pats have also made offers to Peppers.

From Jason LaCanfora?
Ya, I've just heard that the Bears are the heavy favorite and that he will be signing there.

Yeah Scheftler just tweeted the following:

Tweeted before and will tweet it again: barring an unexpected breakdown, Julius Peppers deal will be done with Chicago by this afternoon.

With the Lions adding Corey Williams, KVB, do they draft Suh and really improve the d-line?

I was watching NFL network the other day and they said they are actively shopping that pick because they dont want to spend the money on whoever they pick there. I can see them moving it quite easily.

If St. Louis ends up taking Bradford, which I think they should still do, I think there will be plenty of interest in that #2 pick. And if the Lions do pull the trigger on that and move down, they would definately pick up one of the highly touted tackles in the draft.

To be honest I thought Kampman to Seattle was odd, I know there's the GM connection but I'm ok with Tapp/Jackson in the DE spot, they're young, they're improving. We have a ton of LBers already so if anything Kampman was only going to come in for the DE spot.

I can't see any of the top picks being moved.
Teams always want to move down, but no one ever wants to move up to the expensive picks. Perhaps someone would for Suh, but even that is a stretch.
This is supposed to be a deep draft, so the first few rounds slots will be valuable. I can't see many teams wanting to trade their picks who should turn out to be relatively inexpensive but still solid players. And I can't see teams wanting to flip next years picks if it turns out there may be a rookie cap next year.
So it will be pretty tough to convince a team to come in and trade up for perhaps the last of the really expensive draft picks.

Not trying to sidetrack the FA talk, but I just went to nfl.com to see who had signed, and I noticed they have a video clip talking about how Favre is still unsure whether he wants to play next season. Didn't he say immediately following the NFC Championship that he had already made his decision, and he'd announce it soon? I really hate that man. Pagal I feel bad for ya that you've been dragged into this yearly fiasco now. I love how Favre thinks he's so sneaky and has figured out what he probably thinks is a foolproof way to skip TC. Get your ass to camp you lazy f***!
I'll give him the benefit of the doubt for now, but if this drags into June and past OTA's, I give myself free reign to beak him at every turn.

Meh, don't apologize, I really don't care how much he waffles. I think he's coming back for sure.
The team has also said, repeatedly, that they won't pressure him into a decision.
He skipped TC and everything last year, and it didn't turn out all that bad.

I posted last night that Colts were close to re-signing Brackett. They signed him about an hour and a half ago to a 5 year deal! Thank god. We needed him back.

Schefter is stating Seahawks are seriously thinking about putting in an offer sheet for Marshall, which would have them giving up their 6th overall pick if Broncos don't match. He goes on to state that Marshall is expected to be in Seattle on Saturday to work out a deal.
Don't know how I feel about this. Marshall is definitely an elite talent but has known attitude problems, going to need a large contract. Don't know if we have the supporting cast for it anyways which is why I want them just to draft a bunch of new guys. Guess I'll have to wait and see if it happens.
I'm really not for it though, if there's no one at 6 for us I think we should trade down, I just think there's too many other problems to get a top receiver, potentially for him to hate it in Seattle too.

Difficult decision for both teams. If the top 10 draft picks wernt so expensive it would be a no brainer for Denver to let him go.

Surprised about the Burleson move...obviously not hanging the franchise tag on him but came out and said a few days ago (edit, week ago http://blog.seattlepi.com/football/archives/195931.asp ) that he was 99% coming back to SEA and loved it there.
No way SEA would match that contract though, no way.
Kampman? Meh. The LB core is ok, he could replace Kerney but injuries and Seattle don't mix it seems the last few years, so to get a guy who missed 10 games last years...well, not sure if you want to get in a bidding war for him, that's all.
Marshall, that would be interesting. They now have a spot for a receiver with Burleson (Branch and Houshmenzadeh) gone. Of course, Bates and the QB coach were in Denver when Marshall was a couple years back, so there's the connection. Talent is there, its the off field distractions and atittude that Carroll has to figure out if its worth it in his rebuild.
The first pick 6 overall? Normally I'd say no, but the money at that draft spot you're forced to pay an unproven rookie, you can pay to Marshall. Thanks to Denver, Seattle gets a pick 8 spots later. At 14 you'll still get a good player.
All depends on Carroll and his direction...Seattle HAS to start to address the mid-range plan for the QB position, both starting and certainly backup, ASAP.
