On my phone so I can't link the article right now. But the initial reports were inaccurate and Community has been picked up for another 13 episodes, but it is not a final season order yet.
I don't think it pairs particularly well with Whitney, but the move to Friday could be beneficial because the networks are more forgiving of "cult" shows that get low ratings on Friday.

it also won't be up against Big Bang Theory, which is beneficial. Hard to believe that NBC is cowering from CBS when they used to be the undisputed champions of Thursday night.

“The show has its faithful audience and they will follow it to the ends of the Earth,” the exec insists. “And I really wanted to do something to invigorate Friday because we love Grimm. So I thought, let’s move a show where the audience will move with it. I actually look at the positive side of it, although no good deed goes unpunished.”
Also, still no word on whether Harmon and/or Chase will return for the fourth season.

Community is all but done then but will get that 4th season. Same thing happened to Chuck, had an incredibly tough Monday time slot, big viral campaign to keep it alive and a cult following, and it got moved to Friday and just died. It's almost impossible to be successful at all on Friday night TV.
I don't think there's any way Harmon doesn't return for the 4th season. Didn't even hear there was any chance of that happening

That's basically true. It gets 4 million a week, it's probably the same 4 million every week and they'll just follow it to friday and continue to PVR/Download/Hulu it so it doesn't really matter.
