Just thought I would bring this up regarding roster updates:

-the most updated rosters are via xbox live > play match > quick ranked > update rosters. then just quit.

They have tavares, duchene, hedmen, etc. all very very low graded and generic in detail.

I hate to start leagues or franchises before atleast getting all the current players on a roster update. the classic roster update menu will only show the september 14th update. EA has made some notices about having a terrible time getting the updates working for some crazy reason

Hahaha...this reminds me of a bug in one year of 2K hockey (was is 2K7?) where you would be unable to finish the playoffs because you would have too many injuries to ice a complete team.

Did you try blowing on the disc?

Something needs to be done about people who don't "hit A" to continue.

I understand wanting to see certain goals or penalties again as they happen.
My issue is after a period has ended, I immediately hit A to get to the scoreboard screen. Others sometimes wait and watch all the highlights through. Instead of the game allowing me to watch highlights, or get to the scoreboard early, it usually zooms to a wide view of the arena and simply tells me "waiting on user". That is the most frustrating thing ever.

Also you get the same view if you try to get back to the game after a period or someone took a timeout.

I also ran into an instance where I would have had to sit through all of the 3 stars until the scoreboard came up allowing me to exit out of the game. I simply turned my machine off at this point though.

Hitting A to continue should now just show the other user that you are ready to get back to the action. Once both users have selected this, then both go back to the game simultaneously.
One should never have to simply sit there with no options to do anything, waiting on the other the user.

EDIT: maybe even make it like timeouts are already. Each user get 5 or so highlights that they can watch a game. Both users will get a 3-5 second grace after a whistle, if they don't click A to proceed after that, then they use up one of their highlights. This would make it less frusturating, because many people don't seem to click A to proceed at any point during a game.

I've noticed from playing Madden online that it prompts you "other user is ready to advance" which is nice.

But you're right, if I want to advance and my opponent doesn't - keep showing replays or stats!

Is there a Calgary Puck PS3 NHL 10 "versus" league? There's obviously a big deal made of the EASHL stuff, but is there a head-to-head league? Any interest for one?

CalgaryPuck XBOX users are the exact opposite. Seems to be very little interest in the EASHL but a lot of interest in the versus league.

Nope, but if people would be up for it we can see in setting one up.

I'd jump on board for something like that. I'm definitely a fairly casual player, but it would be nice to play some online games with a little bit of purpose (as opposed to one-off games against someone you don't know who turns off their system as soon as you're about to win...)

I played someone with the Flames he was the Manitoba Moose (he insisted). EVERY and I mean EVERY one of his poke-checks/stick-lifts worked, EVERYONE. He gets away with countless interference calls, etc. I do 2 successful stick-lifts/poke-checks the entire game, and have 3 tripping calls.

I dunno, the penalty calling is extremely variable, sometimes you get called, and sometimes you don't. I kinda like the unpredictability of it, cuz one game I get no penalties, and the next i get ten.. it's just funny that it is sometimes different between the two players. I swear I don't play any differently, but I think EA does this variable reffing to simulate real life.. LOL

I was started the Be A Pro mode, and the penalties there are so darn wimpy. After the whistle I was about to check this guy and I missed (so I thought) since he didn't move... but yet I still got a penalty. I came out of the box and this guy was about to get a one timer so I smacked him right as he got it. Penalty. However, every time I'm about to get a one timer I get pushed over and no penalty!!! GRRR

Then those stupid coach's comments of 'Don't take a bad penalty'. I get the same comments about fights too.

I'd be interested too..the be a player stuff doesn't interest me all that much. Head to head competition is fun for me though

so the freezing part made my file corrupt, and its a common issue

so I created a new season

1st game: langkow gets injured for 6 weeks for missing a hit and running into the boards
2nd game: lundmark gets injured for 6-7 weeks for the same thing

I've had players get injured for running into the boards as well. It happened to Phanuef the first time for me, then the second time was Jokinen.

I like the addition of the whole 'bat the puck out of the air' thing, but why the heck didn't they include some sort of thing about high stick goals? I just watched an OT winner get batted past Kipper from about 2 feet over the cross bar, what a screw job.

It's really not that big of a deal, but I remember a few years back they had reviews and disallowed goals. It doesn't happen in every NHL game, but it comes up enough that I think it would be a cool addition.
